School bus wiring can be very difficult for untrained schoolie enthusiasts. There us little information on how to rewire a school bus. School bus turn signal wiring, school bus stop lights wiring, school bus flashers wiring, school bus back up alarm wiring, and school bus safety alarm wiring are all running through the main wiring module over the driver (in short bus schoolies). Removing wiring over the drivers seat can be done. If your school bus won't start, it may be from school bus safety wiring in the module over the driver and in the module, connected to the safety alarms. Safety alarm plungers are spring loaded plungers which are held in and when released connect the ground. These are wired through the module over the driver, and the rear door alarm will keep you from starting the bus. School bus window alarm plungers can be cut, capped, and will end that feature. There may be hidden plunger in your rear door area if there is a lock which secures that door when not in use. It is illegal to lock the safety door when driving with kids. For this reason, school bus rear door alarms are wired / attached to sound when the door is locked, and bus is started. If your school bus rear door alarm doesn't go off, there is likely a added plunger in the box where the typical plunger is located. Remove and cut alarm wire, then cap it so it can not ground, or it will sound every time it touches metal. There is a school bus alarm wiring plunger inside the handle box for opening the main doors. Alarm wiring is in the roof hatch as well. We, at EnableRV.com in Massachusetts , remove the entire module and rewire what we require, to open the area up for other spaces, such as added sleeping or storage. Note: Locate and remove the fuses to tun signal wiring, back up alarm wiring, and stop lights wiring, before removing the module so you don't trip the fuse as you eradicate the wires. Then replace. In small schoolies, the school bus fuse box is down by your feet on the drivers side.
