Connecting would be B- a positive from the ignition switch with a fuse (as mentioned in the above diagram as a red wire to flasher). E would be a ground. L is connected to pin 30 (as mentioned in the above diagram in blue). Hope this helps.

This would be GREAT in a book, like HP series books or the like. Your series is the BEST at not only showing how to do it, but parts recommendations, etc. The wiring books out there now are PURE CRAP. I bought several of them and they sucked to high heaven. Way too general and not very helpful. BTW, I am an electrical engineer. You do a excellent job explaining, without getting too far into the minutia. Might I suggest for you master class series getting to Ohm's law, Voltage, current and resistance and how that relates to electrical wiring in a automotive application, much like what you covered in previous video's without discussing voltage ,current and resistance and how it plays into the functions of the electrical circuits. Just my 2 cents worth.

Great Video. This solve a lot of issues. When you have time to create another along this topic, would you address this issue. Most cars since turn signal were required and us the 1157 bulb use the dimmer filament for the tail lights and the brighter one for the brake, turn signal, and the hazard. Would you demonstrate how this could be wired. I know you said the white wire could be used for the tail light, but how would you wire to have the turn signal, brake, and hazard on the brighter filament? Thanks and I will watch in the future for another great video.

Now I need to figure out how to add the hazard lights so they will cancel when the turn signal is employed. Thanks!!
@stephenweston29733 жыл бұрын
Easy answer... Add separate lights thru a flasher for the constant hazard then regular lights for stop and turn. This way the hazard will always be on and the lowers will be turn. The other way can be done but needs a couple relays and another flasher to make that work. Adding dedicated hazard is way easier thru a flasher.

What I found is an LED flasher with a ground flashes faster than one without the problem I’m having is that even though I replaced my flashers the rear 1156 led bulbs for running lights at night will not work. The led 1157 for brakes work fine and so do the 1156 for backup lights and turn signals but not the side marker lights. I’ve checked the grounds and they all seem to work. It would be great to see a video on how 1156 and 1157 led bulb works different and the difference between a grounded led flasher and a non one with turn signals, brakes, backup lights and side marker lights - thanks 👍🏼

This video is 150% understandable this is like breaking it down for dummies. Definitely is going to help me out because I do not want to pay to run new headlights, blinkers, brake lights,ect. Another idea you may be able to mention is how to run new headlights with high beams I think that would be an interesting topic and maybe throwing the brake lights in there with it to where they have the standard brake lights without you pressing on it then you know they get brighter whenever you hit the brakes just a thought would be video to watch.

I ordered most of the items on the list in the video description and received them today. Everything is fine except the 3-way SPDT switches. They are momentary switches. They are spring loaded to stay in the off position. Eventhough, Amazon lists them as momentary switches, I ordered them because you specifically wrote that they were another brand and they were not momentary. It's no big deal because it's Amazon and they have an easy return process. I just wanted to let you know so other people don't order these momentary 3-way switches expecting to get non-momentary switches.

Hi, so glad I found you. I just bought a new CFMoto Z force 950 side x side SPORT. Sport in important because that model comes with head lights, high and low beam and taillights. However, there is not a dedicated turn signal on this machine. Thus it is a SPORT model and not a street model. I Think your demo will work good for what I want. Just rear set of signal lights. So my question is : do I need to run 2 flashers or will one suffice? What gauge wire is on your setup and what amp fuse should used? Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for posting this kind of info for electrical dummies like myself.

Thanks for watching! I’d recommend this circuit instead. But make sure you use LED’s if you go with this design. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4nMdqKAi9l7n5o

Thank you Jeremy, yes I had decided on LED"s. I web captured your layout and have it in the garage and the parts to get started, routing is going to be a big problem no easy wiring paths on this machine. Thanks again for the help and I did subscribe and rang the bell.

This video is AWESOME! really helped me understand the wiring in simple terms since im new to this BUT i need to let you know that the switch you linked is in fact a 2 way NOT a 3 way switch of course kinda my fault cause i just hit order but thought you would like to know

Thanks for letting me know. I just corrected it! (Though feel free to double check me!) The ones I originally bought were no longer on Amazon, so I had to find a different set and apparent got the numbers mixed up! DM me on Instagram if you can. @Ratty_muscle_car, and maybe I can help you out!

@@WiringRescue Thanks for correcting, of course my fault cause i was excited and ordered without looking, i picked up a switch from a parts store im gonna try this exact setup tomorrow

I am not doing the exact application but this helped me get a basic idea how the signal system works. I am installing aftermarket additional brake light (with sequential turn signal and strobe brake light) and running light/turn signal for my motorcycle. Would I need to add fused to the cables I connect to the existing set up?

Brilliant video, but my trike has 2 push to make switches, how could I use relays and the flasher unit to make it work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Would you explain how to wire two 5 pin pushbutton switches for turn signals on a motorcycle. 1 switch for front and one for back. Thank you, Richard

Thanks for the great breakdown! If i want to use LEDs, will the timing/pace of the flasher still work properly? Or will i need to add a resistor?
@WiringRescue2 жыл бұрын
You’ll need to swap your flasher. Check out this video for details kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXqmnniaYpxna7s

Simple question from an electrical dummy. Can I splice into my existing turn signal wiring and add a toggle switch without interrupting my park lights through the factory settings?

Question: Do you need the relays? Could you just run a 30A 3-way switch and bypass the relays? Thanks for the great video!
@WiringRescue3 жыл бұрын
You can skip the relays entirely if you use a suitable switch for the circuit, but 99.999% of people will not buy the right amperage switch. Then the switch will burn out, and then they will be asking why their switch keeps breaking. So the relays are the safer option. :)

@@WiringRescue What is the amperage draw of the 2 bulbs compared to the relay?

Newby question: Why could you not bring hot wire from flasher directly to 3-way switch and out to bulbs? I guess my question is what is the purpose of the relay in the mix? Thanks!
@WiringRescue2 жыл бұрын
Stay tuned! I'm probably going to do that video next. It's totally doable, but you need to make sure you use the proper size bulbs & switch. If you don't, you'll burn out things. While fire is awesome in a fireplace, it's terrible in a car!
