My God is near, when I listen to Eckhart. Here, yes, Nature is perfect teacher for me as I was my first 20 years living in the nature, on the village, yes, you can sense the air, the ground, the wind, the storm, the wind, everything... The most experiencing was storming and lightning, when the light went off in the evenings....when grandmother was peacefully walking around with candle and inside was peace that you can breath it, outside was lightning..... O, gosch! WE WERE ONE WITH NATURE.

For 30 years I have worked in Oak Tree Preservation as a professional. Thousands of trees. Many very old. In the parking lot of Lupes Restaurant I was looking into a gorgeous 50’ Q. lobata. I had saved trees in more difficult circumstances. Standing there, somehow I knew, this tree was likely to die. It broke my heart to think it. As I gazed into the canopy I connected, felt an internal change, as Eckhart describes. And it expands. Find this blessing

We take a lot for granted. In the movie "The Martian" Matt Damon was left behind on Mars. He succeeded to grow a potato plant. He greeted the seedling by saying:"Hey, little one.." (or something along the lines) and from there he knew that he had a chance to survive. Back on earth the same scene ...in front of him "just" a little plant grew through some gravel (I believe). "Hey, little one." Nature is like us something miraculeus. We are not only a part of this. We are THAT according to Papaji as well. Thank you very much for helping us to remember and maybe re-connect to THAT, Mr. Tolle...namaste

Crazy man, just randomly one day I was hiking in the woods and said. Wow, think about how many pine needles are in that pile. Then I said what about in these woods, then I said the world. Then I just got dizzy, and I said, there is so much detail in this world it’s crazy. Then I was thinking of how many thoughts compounded over time in my life, creating my personality. Then all the other compounded thoughts of every person on earth…..This world is beautiful! Still can’t find a good word to explain the complexity and beauty!

Zero pain anywhere but I've been losing ground on cancer for a couple years now. It will probably take me out but the stats show that standard treatments don't help with this problem. Wow, "swans and ducks take photos"? Incredible! Just kidding. I also do moving meditation but not just running but also body weight training and jumping along the way (parkour). As long as I'm in the present moment I don't hurt myself and pain is my master. When you take photos you are not in the present moment though, you postpone it for later. Why don't watch the real swans and ducks instead of making a two dimensional picture to look at later?

I used to go out into nature every day and the consistency of that had my mind be in a very peaceful and healthy state. Lately my mind has been occupied with attention on solutions to people not getting along with each other; all the crazy thoughts human minds make up about different perceived separate groups of people that lead to violence. It is disturbing to my mental well being to be so occupied with what has happened and what can happen that is hurtful and causes suffering to humans. I love all people and feel pain when I watch people being violated online and in the news. Yesterday I went to the park, walked up a hill, sat and contemplated where I was at and what were my next steps on my current project to help people understand each other and get along. When I could visualize clearly an idea of what was clear to do next I got up to leave the park motivated to get home. As I was leaving I noticed a plum tree with lots of blossoms on it. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that soon those blossoms would turn into plums. My mind contemplated how no matter if our capitol is being attacked the plum tree doesn't stop soaking up water and minerals from the ground. The tree doesn't check to make sure everybody is happy in order to be the healthiest tree it can be. Suddenly I felt an an ease in the thought that I knew that each and every season I can trust that the tree will be in it's healthiest state no matter what crazy circumstances humans are involved in. It occured to me that I can trust nature. It will keep showing up season after season consistently doing what it does regardless of circumstance. My mind felt comfort in knowing that I could be guaranteed that plums would soon show up. That I could trust the future. That life will continue each season doing what it naturally does. The ocean doesn't stop coming in and going out from the shore. Birds don't stop flying. Trees don't stop blooming. If we let nature teach us, we can learn about health and about peace. Consistent. I remind myself to connect with nature consistently and I am o.k.

The only thing that is appearing to stop you from enlightenment/self-realization/eternal life/knowing yourself to be unconditional love is identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences instead of being aware of being aware and knowing yourself to be that unconditional love pure consciousness in which all thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences appear but are not inherently one with you; they are an expression of unconditional love; you are that infinite that is expressing itself as suffering/pleasure but inherently you are neither; you are that nothing/unconditional love/pure consciousness in which they are appear and by which they are perceived; Suffering/pleasure comes and goes; there is an awareness that is aware of them coming and going; that you are; remember and know what you are; never identify with anything that is appearing within you; since it appears within you; it can't be you; you are that in which it appears. When you abide as that in which it appears instead of identifying; nothing has a grip on you; if anything comes; it quickly goes; like clouds passing; only if you identify as a cloud then it will appear as if the cloud is here for longer than it is originally supposed to; if you simply rest as the awareness and do not identify; it will quickly dissolve; be unconditional love by being aware of being aware; this is the highest; this is what you are seeking in absolutely everything else; you are seeking yourself; you are seeking unconditional love; but you are looking outside of yourself; instead of being aware that you already are unconditional love. Love love

Nature is the expression of God. I find joy in the woods. Cities are human creations, artificial worlds hurting the soul.. While Nature feeds and harmonize our being at all levels.

Would love to see Eckhart do walk and talks in nature ..pointing out all the little and profoundly grand representatives of our incredible environment. The reverence in our hearts spills over to love for all creatures and plant life great and small.

I also love the paintings in the sky, walking by the sea. And walk in the desert. Thank you very much for the spiritual guidance. During your last visit to Israel, I sat in a hall at the Tel Aviv Hall of Culture. I watched you and listened to you. Like in the last 10 years through KZbin. I also read your books translated into Hebrew. You are making a very big contribution to my inner life and to my life in general. Huge gratitude to you.

Yeah, when you listen to something else you can't be present in nature. Just be there with no purpose or distraction. At least the kookaburra brought you back to the here and now.

Look up the effect of touching plants - it has an adverse effect on many types of plants - it kicks in their defense instincts and stunts their growth... :)

I find that it’s by giving attention to the plants that helps me help them stay healthy, so if I talk to them, what I’m really doing is paying attention, noticing. “oh you look dry, I’ll give you water”. “I see bugs eating your leaves, let me remove them”. Not so much the touching but “being present” with them to notice what they need! Both for indoor and outdoor plants.

@@gavinr5576 I do agree that aversion towards experiences can be a problem. But I also acknowledge that the Buddha prescribed moral training for a reason. There is a right time for every cue/information. A total beginner should definitely make an effort to purify his emotions while a more advanced person can see them for what they are and accept them.

I remember meditating as a kid. No clue what it was back then. It is so easy although needs weather to cooperate. I used to lay down as a kid on grass or a chair or whatever and look up and focus on the clouds. And watch them closely as they "change shape" especially on the edges. That really zones me out. Needs a cloudy sky though...
