9:35 I love how not even the staff in this school are safe from the comedic hijinks. It puts all the characters on an equal level so anyone can gain a victory or loss.

I'd like to share that when I was in high school i joined the wrestling team and turned out to be pretty good at it. I suffer physical disability but that didn't stop me from going for it and I feel thankful about the coaches and teammates who always believed in me. I remember that in other schools there would be female wrestlers as well and depending on the weight class they would have to go against the boys.

Yep, I would say this is actually more common in wrestling than other sports. 👍

I’ve always wondered why the gym coaches are also the teachers who teach other classes such as math, foreign language, and life science. When I first saw this, I thought it was because they didn’t have other actors to play gym coaches but now that you explained it, it makes sense because they had previous experience on the sport itself or if they’re doing it because they are great well-rounded teachers who can teach and coach well to help out the school with tryout selections.

Fritz who commented this show still holds up was absolutely right! Funny and charming like I remember. Honestly maybe even more so I love the fact that they showed not all the main trio got into the sports they wanted. It's a tougher but really great lesson for kids to learn, but everybody wins and that's okay, just keep trying again next time Heck, I'm an adult and even I feel like I gotta a little boost in my morale from watching this, ha

Yeah. Watching sports definitely works because you can study the different movements that they players make and it can improve your own skills especially if you're watching the pros. I mean they went professional for a reason. They know what they're doing obviously.

8:43 Things were a bit simpler than that when I was in school because the tryouts for different sports were spaced out based on when the seasons were, so if an athlete wanted to try out for multiple sports with seasons that don’t overlap, they could get away with it simply by signing up and trying out when that particular season was coming. That situation you talked about where you have to choose one or another when seasons overlap applied very strongly.

Here's some real tips if your a boy Who wants to do cheerleading. Tip 1. It's not as easy as it looks. It takes strength, agility and skill. So make sure you practice just like you would with any other sport. Tip 2. It requires a lot of energy so make sure you Prepared by stretching and doing a lot of exercise. Tip 3. Don't do it just because you wanna meet up with someone or Because you want to impress the ladies.

I’m only going off of what I see for my college cheerleading team so I don’t know if this is common, but there is one dude in the team but he doesn’t do the acrobatic stunts that the girls do. Instead, he’s yelling support for the football team into a large, plastic megaphone.

Visualization works but only goes so far. What it helps is to see what works or why it works, especially if you listen to the play by play commentary you might pick up some of the vocabulary if you're new, what certain areas of field/court are covered and why, how to play as a team, etc.

I’d like to bring up how my old schools offered students to play tennis as a sport, but it wasn’t created equally among the other sports. Tennis was considered separate from regular athletics and ordinary PE, but it would still give students their PE credits. A lot of ex-athletes would transfer to tennis if they got kicked off their teams for bad grades.

At my high school there was never a team roster posted on the bulletin board like that, the coach would always tell everyone who tried out individually whether they made the team or not.

@@SchoolPrincipalReacts I like it because it works on a more personal level. It shows that the coach put in the effort to observe and evaluate you as an athlete, and you'll often get constructive feedback. If I just saw a list with my name not on it, I'd question whether the coach even noticed I was there.

One of my old friends can kind of relate to Cookie’s experience with cheerleading tryouts. I was once a chorus student, and our director had five choruses, all of which were gender-segregated. Mine was the only men’s chorus, and at the end of the year, our director held auditions for varsity chorus. (The segregatory rules were set to apply into the following year, so sign-ups were reserved for ladies.) One of my friends decided he would sign up anyway, and he ended up not making the cut for that reason.

In high school I tried out for Track and Field. And it wasn't that hard for students join the team. Students that didn't do well in long distance races like 800m, 1500m/1600m, 3000m/3200m would only do Short Distance races during track meets. Like myself only did short distance such as 55m, 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 4x200m and 4x100m relays.
