Dave wasn't hating. The fact that ppl took it as hating is what needs to be examined.

the fact that it can even be pushed as “hating”, is where the real problem lies because why would they even think that’s an argument people will get behind? Because they will. Whatever the reason they will, is the issue.

yeh I agree. Dave just didn't care tbh lol. Not caring is not the same as hating. The way Dave reacted is pretty close to how I would react if somebody described a new sketch comedy to me. Rather than saying "it's not what I do" I would respond "it's not my thing", which is true because sketch comedy as a generalized comment mostly sucks dirty old grandpa balls. But occasionally there's a gem in the mix that you haven't found yet. My personal bias on the topic is that Andrew is the gem Dave hasn't found yet.

But only people in the know can sense the subtle salt. Dave knows full well who he is, and what he does, and even subtly called him out on his last stand up / speech on Netflix. When Andrew and the boys responded to that, and made fun of Dave for making the pandemic about him being a "hero" for doing stand up, the part about Dave ranting about being a hero and smoking cigarettes' because of people were cut out of that mini special. Those were precisely the things the boys made fun of.

Man, I missed this at the time and glad I did. Kinda disappointed they even tried to dissect it. This video should just have been Schultz ecstatic that he was even discussed in a long awaited Chappelle appearance on Rogan. “Yo!! Rogan was talking me up to Dave Chapelle. What the fuck!!?” and rolling off his chair Chaplelle hadn’t even seen it but still remained totally respectful. Look at the comics who openly mocked Bert for those drive ins - and he’s well known. They still say nah, not for them but respect it worked out for him Rogan probably showed him some bits after or he’s seen it since and enjoyed it

The amount of tickets sold, who fellow stand up consider the greatest, who's the most well known, WHO'S funny ? Personally, for me Patrice O'Neal is the funniest guy till date but I am not argue to prove it simply because humour is highly subjective.

If you have someone else as your the greatest of all time, then any other person who is also great, would automatically be in 2nd place. @@sharkmun imma go on a tangent here cause i know this is not the topic of discussion and is irellevant to comedians at hand but it can also kinda circle around to be relevant so who knows. what i want to say is "why do we still glorify oldtimers in the new age and new era as if they would be as amazing today as they were back in their time" like, babe ruth, i am not saying he wasnt great, he was one of the best........ at that time. but back in the days when babe ruth was on the top, how many black players could you name? in the same way why do we still celebrate michael jordan as the "greatest nba player" when objectively we had so many better players since the era of MJ and if MJ was to play today with the skills he had back in the days he would probably not be much better from, well to use your term, a bench player. and i guess in order to circle this around and tie it to comedians i would say DC is the goat, hands down, no objections here. but just like michael jordan, babe ruth and many others i consider him goat of his time and his type of comedy. just like how michael jordan is the goat of his type of basketball, doesnt mean he would still be goat with how/what basketball is today. Dave knows his stuff and he owns it, he is stickler for old type of comedy, the stand up, telling jokes in front of people etc. the fact he knows and owns it is what makes him great in my eyes, but it is also fact that this type of mentality is what is getting him in troubles these days. i am just pointing out the obvious, i would never take the side of people who is trying to cancel dave and frankly i refuse to believe dave is cancelable but what i talk about is mere observation, sticking to old school so to speak can only carry you so long which is why i opened with michael jordan rant :)
