Dave wasn't hating. The fact that ppl took it as hating is what needs to be examined.
@calebray41683 жыл бұрын
the fact that it can even be pushed as “hating”, is where the real problem lies because why would they even think that’s an argument people will get behind? Because they will. Whatever the reason they will, is the issue.
@ihateusernamesgrrr3 жыл бұрын
yeh I agree. Dave just didn't care tbh lol. Not caring is not the same as hating. The way Dave reacted is pretty close to how I would react if somebody described a new sketch comedy to me. Rather than saying "it's not what I do" I would respond "it's not my thing", which is true because sketch comedy as a generalized comment mostly sucks dirty old grandpa balls. But occasionally there's a gem in the mix that you haven't found yet. My personal bias on the topic is that Andrew is the gem Dave hasn't found yet.

Personally, for me Patrice O'Neal is the funniest guy till date but I am not argue to prove it simply because humour is highly subjective.

Dave knows his stuff and he owns it, he is stickler for old type of comedy, the stand up, telling jokes in front of people etc. the fact he knows and owns it is what makes him great in my eyes, but it is also fact that this type of mentality is what is getting him in troubles these days. i am just pointing out the obvious, i would never take the side of people who is trying to cancel dave and frankly i refuse to believe dave is cancelable but what i talk about is mere observation, sticking to old school so to speak can only carry you so long which is why i opened with michael jordan rant :)

As far as I remember, Dave Chappelle became a household name even before Chappelle's Show. And disagreeing is not the same as hating. Disagreeing is a normal thing that people did in the good ol' days and then still okay with each other. Dave basically said it's not his thing to do stand-up on KZbin, the same as your grandma can't wrap her head around Twitter because she's too old to learn something new. That's not hating.

@@johnspence8141 that POV is subjective. it all depends on what you think of as huge. having milions of fans is maybe huge for USA, but on a world scale it means little. with how popular dave became after DCS, the population of people who had dave on his radar before DCS ,when compared to bilions that know him now, could hardly be called huge
