Got a question: When they say we speak of the Majority text readings where is the majority readings found? Within the Byzantium manuscripts yes but what does that mean in comparison to the Received Text / TR? Is the majority reading found and spread out within well over 1500 Byzantium manuscripts all over the then known world or is there a compilation of printed Greek New Testaments that was published by certain teams of scholars at some point that make up a textual source like that of the UBS5th or the NU28th or the TR of the 16th century that might make up a majority text readings source? I’m confused in where they’re gathering the majority text readings outside of the received text, is what my main question is. Sorry if I’m confusing.

If i'm not mistaken I believe the NKJV is not technically based on the TR but only on the Byzantine text tradition. This subject came up when James White was interviewed by Steven Anderson where Anderson pointed out the differences between the NKJV and the KJV.

No, the NKJV NT is based on the Textus Receptus, which is a variant of the Byzantine tradition. From the NKJV Preface, under the section The New Testament Text, the editors state, "The King James New Testament was based on the traditional text of the Greek-speaking churches, first published in 1516, and later called the Textus Receptus or Received Text. [...] ...the editors [of the NKJV] decided to retain the traditional text in the body of the New Testament and to indicate major Critical and Majority Text variant readings in the footnotes.” accordance.bible/link/read/NKJV_Notes#28 Thus, the NKJV retains the Johannine comma in 1 John 5:7 as it appears in the TR, but not in the Majority Text or the Byzantine Tradition in general. The NKJV also retains the rather odd and unsupported readings in Revelation that were in the TR and the KJV. The editor of the NKJV, the late Dr. Arthur Farstad wanted to base the NKJV on the Majority Text Greek NT that he had edited with Zane Hodges. However, the publisher (Thomas Nelson) overruled him and required him to use the TR, the same text as the KJV, because they did not want readers unfamiliar with textual issues to find readings that were widely divergent from the KJV.
