same, lol. I bought a GT Aggressor Pro and the only things stock on it are the frame, rims, and seat post. Everything else has been upgraded. And I'm currently looking to change out the frame with something that has a tapered headtube. I'm looking at possibly getting a Brand-X HT-01 frame, it's only $179 and has great reviews.

Wolf man hit it right on the head! I would have never been into MTB if I didn't upgrade my comp. Was about 1100 into it all said and done. Very similar spec to the comp zerker. It was a perfect gateway to teach and improve my riding. I recently sold it 😭. Was a really tough sale built so I returned it close to "budget" and sold it. Once learning bikes and the riding improves, you can learn and justify cost of higher end parts. I now dream built a '22 San Quentin 3 ,it was 3x the cost of my comp build, but again not for my comp that bike wouldn't exist

I have a 2017 Comp AL, and started riding it everyday during the apocalypse, and my bottom bracket just went out. Replaced it with a Shimano, and gave it new pedals. Ordered a Spank Spoon handlebar, Fabric Magic Grips and just ordered a RaceFace Ride MTB Stem. I'd like to replace the bearings in the rear wheel, but Schwinn told me to pound sand, buy a new wheel, and the local bike shop suggested I come back when I want to purchase a real bike. It's near impossible to find out if this is doable, and if it is, could you point me in the right direction, as far as which bearings/size I should get? Love the video by the way......
@WOLFTICKVIDEOS2 жыл бұрын
Hey brother, I hate that the responses you get are like that. Now you should just grease the bearings, then I would save up about $80 and purchase a new rear wheel and a groupset for right around $125. Thay way you can have more gearing options.

What’s going on gentlemen. Just started watching you guys a few weeks ago grabbing my first bike since my teen years. 2009 novara ponderosa. It has a rockshox dart3 fork that pretty much sucks on the rebound. Would that bucklos shock be an upgrade or what would be a good 120mm budget shock upgrade? I’ve watched your budget fork video but what would you recommend as the cheapest upgrade and then best for under say $250
@WOLFTICKVIDEOS2 жыл бұрын
Hey brother, thank you so much for watching and the comment. Now when it comes to forks it is a very slippery slope, not too sure what your headset is, but if it's a straight then these forks are a must and really are a steal at this price. 120 travel but are not tapered. Which is a good thing if you have the right straight steerer tube and it's a 27.5. Here's an affiliate link amzn.to/3d7RqP4

For some reason the Weinmann rims seem to mostly be on horrible wheel sets, or on some cheap Dirt jump bikes, I saw wide Weinnman rims on some Dj bikes years ago. with cheap Shimano hubs. I had a older Weinnman Zac rim, it was 38 spoke, so way overkill, cheese spoke nipples and junk hub, but rim did well, but I did not do anything crazy on it, but rim did well.

if you build from scratch it's always best to go for frame only, unless you already get a new good base to build on, but that frame is a cheap XC frame, head angle is steep, geo is not optimal, so if you want a trail or enduro frame this is a bad choice. but as can clearly be seen you have beaten it up really badly and it withstood it. The frame construction seems decent. I hope for more low budget hardtail frames, with enduro geometry, so slack head angle, long chain stay, but I want chain stay to grow with the size.

They want used car money for some of these bikes who wouldn't pick the 90s LT1 corvette over a Cannondale Lefty from Canada for 8k. Then the LBS has better financing programs than the local Dentist's office and trade up programs so they can sell your used bike to some other poor soul. I'm probably going to get my next frame from allieexpress, a no brand no sticker special because I'm willing to bet the same worker in the same factory is making all the frames for a majority of brands, might try a carbon gravel style.
