I love the idea of Sci-fi countryside. We always think of futuristic environments in the cities. This looks amazing!!

OMG!! i suddenly stumbled upon your videos and I love it!! I'm such a fan of pixel art! Especially games with that style. Kind of like stardew valley!

Really appreciate the kind words :) Had a lot of design inspiration from Stardew Valley. Really wanted to create that cozy and relaxing atmosphere

Man I know this game is in the very beginning stages, but i so hope i will be able to play this someday. Your work is awesome! I especially love being able to see all the steps in your process, and it's even cooler knowing this is more than just art and will be playable. I'm so excited!! Lol. What platform will this be on, if you dont mind me asking?

I really like the details and Building setup, great work. Also, how do you determine the scale of such a big building? do you have a concept art ready before starting or You take the human character as reference for the general scale?
@PixelArchitect4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, the human character acts as good reference for scale. In architecture school they always emphasized the importance of designing for the human scale, so feels pretty safe to follow that idea. Usually I start with a simple sketch to get the general idea, and design the details as I go.

I just love your style of pixel art. Your timelapses are brilliant to watch. To do you build these from concept art? Or are you making it up as you go along?
@PixelArchitect4 жыл бұрын
Really appreciate it! I usually do a quick concept sketch to get the general massing and make up the details as I go

how do you go about your lighting on the buildings at night?
@Gaspardini Жыл бұрын
I really love your art style. How do you add the lighting on the windows at night or season effects like snow??
@PixelArchitect Жыл бұрын
Light was painted on here if I remember. Can just use a wide, soft brush. In the game, can just use lighting tools instead. Snow would need to be drawn in with pixel art

Amazing! I develop my own game and I have a question more about architecture than pixel art. In my game, there are buildings like surgeries or laboratories. Is there any efficient way to check which rooms are essential for one building or can I just look at floor plans and make conclusions out of them?

Nice work! But I found logical inconsistencys regarding the position and depth of objects, in most of your videos. I can explain further if this is not intentional and you want to hear my opinion.

Thanks. Yes, I think this one definitely has some flaws. Still learning pixel art and will come back in the future and redraw parts of it and add a new color palette.

What canvas size and ppi do you use and how do you determine it?
@PixelArchitect4 жыл бұрын
Using 24x24 tiles in Unity with 640 x 360 screen res. Canvas size in Photoshop is flexible, based on how big the drawing is

well done and cute. The transittion to evening and night, is even more impressive... But the music is very annoying at the beggining (this is what I talk about @ your cyberpunk-ship video) This pitched repeating mumbling voices are catastrophe. Try a different music in future; afterwards it is OK. (some 8-bit chiptune, or some synthwave, or something w/o "singing/lyrics" )
@PixelArchitect4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments. Yes the music could have been chosen better. Recently digging more subtle instrumental styles. And can't go wrong with piano :)

make vids shorter, make a summary, just show the important parts.
@PixelArchitect4 жыл бұрын
It's true these are pretty long, but still wanted to keep true to the timelapse video form by showing the process from beginning to end. Will try to speed it up next time or make a bit simpler drawings. Also planning to try some different types of videos, some of these could be more of a summary, like you are thinking.
