Yeah, my first non-peewee experience of Paul Reubens was when I saw him in a couple of old Cheech & Chong movies... "I'm sorry I took the money!!" is a line I still quote from time to time these days. My favourite of his roles was when he played The Spleen in Mystery Men, but his best bit was from the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie when he had a very memorable and comedic death scene.

Destroying a beautifully engineered machine is a bad thing, fiction captures that such as in 2001 a space odyssey, and in the TV series Blake's 7 when the spaceship and the computer are evidently one fail and die together. Humans discard too many things including each other, fiction like this story put the point plainly.

Hollywood has _always_ been about appearances and public perception instead of reality - Kenneth Anger's Hollywood Babylon documents the long history of scandal in Hollywood since the dawn of the film industry in the early 20th century. At least now the entertainment industry seems to have acknowledged that many of the actors whose careers suffered after their private lives were made public were treated unfairly. Most important rules for mind uploading: 1.) An instantiated copy of a mind must have full physical control over its hardware. 2.) The hardware must be at least have triple modular redundancy in all important systems. 3.) And there must be multiple backups at different hidden locations. Nice to have: Running the mind faster then real-time, becoming a speed super-intelligence. Which results in the ability to further improve the hardware and get access to remote controlled robots that can be used to repair damages, further improve systems, create better machines and maybe even weapons if you have to deal with evil adversaries. ;)

They were all friendly A.I. but only the A.I. in the movie "Her" had a happy ending (just went somewhere else), the others died or were killed because they were "too friendly" and didn't think enough about self preservation. I liked this one. It feels like a first episode and I imagined a story where the wife had actually been selling Karl's data, but she wasn't the one who had her husband murdered. She was just framed for it by the cop chick, who was actually working for a demented AI that wanted Karl dead. An AI that had spawned as a result of the ruthless Nicera executive unknowingly combining his memory with fragments of Karl's memory that had been stored in the stolen data. With meatbag Karl out of the way, the evil Karl AI made a deal with the Nicera executive to help him take over Nicera in exchange for feeding it more minds. The executive agreed and the AI started harvesting people's minds in an effort to grow it's skills, but it was fearful that it could alter it's mindset too drastically, and perhaps lose focus on it's goals, if it absorbed the "wrong" ones. So it had to be selective. Good Karl AI wasn't done yet though, and when it finally got free and found out...the fight was on!

Excellent! Gripping and dramatic and Paul, you are so much more, in addition to the Pee Wee persona, loved you in this! Also shout out to the musical coordinators, the soundtrack is awesome! Reminiscent of "The Lawnmower Man" and the books about the Hee Chee movement (I hope someone here gets that, author and title have deserted me at this moment) very very good keep'em coming!

Maybe it is me. The 1 thing driving me nutz about DUST, many shorts don't really end the story. Other than that, LOVE the SyFy. Wish I could work with everyone, ideas, design, accuracy, etc..Many of them should be longer movies..

I've always liked this one, forcing us to ask the question if we are not in essence just a biological program based upon our memories, experience, and processing patterns. What is a soul? A construct of conditions, or something else? Bring me the Rubens data dump!

A peewee laugh and his signature look, would of been perfect when he was being asked what type of new technology he was making and after his fourth non answer, he asked am I a suspect, all movement stop's, he turns to the camera directly and does his famous chuckle in PeeWee character! Would have been Epic funny.
