as an atheist I would like to say that the problem with atheism is it is kind of becoming a religion itself which is trying to preach people who believe in god that their god doesnt exist, this problem has to stop and all the fellow atheists just enjoy the rich cultural festivities that religious people offer and stop forcing your atheism on religious people , just live your life , dont give a f* about god at the same time dont f* with people who believe in god. If you are still living with your parents like me and are forced to worship god , just do it for their sake, atleast until you get live on your own. Thinking rationally means observing a situation from all the frames of reference and coming to a conclusion, not just thinking in like an anti religious atheist.

God would be that which will be ultimate or fundamental in reality. The source of all possibility or the source of all temporal facts. The ground of all being. The reason why there’s anything at all instead of nothing. And this is a personal agent. The argument is that God is the ultimacy of reality. Meaning without God you have no ultimate grounding or foundation for anything including things like evidence, morality, science, knowledge. Etc. This denial of God leads to absurdity. It’s a reductio ad absurdum argument. It reduces the godless worldview to absurdity

@@freud1426How is rationalism even close to fascism? Here's a fascist government running the country with every irrational means possible. Stopping stupid people from harming themselves and others is not fascism. However, it may seem so to people who are deeply stupid and want self harm and harm to others as their birth right. The list you have shared may look laughable only because it goes to the root of superstition. What's the point of working against witchcraft when the mindset is not fixed? I agree that Dabholkar was stupid, to the other extreme, to believe that he can fix such hopelessly broken minds and society. That stupidity killed him.
@curiosity_fan

@@freud1426 So you say that: 1. It's okay, if astrologers are making a fool out of gullible people to make money out of it and give fake hopes to them? 2. It's okay, if fake godmen are trying to make a fool out of gullible people with their cheap magic tricks (which one cannot even be questioned openly in front of them) to get popular and eventually make it to important decision making positions(MP/MLA) of the country? 3. It's okay, if people being given medications which have not been clinically tested well that works sometimes and doesn't other times as per it's own wish on the patients. I'm not in favour of outright ban but constant effort to promote awareness regarding the harmful effects of these things and promote quality education of rationality within children

What an enlightening and inspirational interview with Narendra Nayak! I'm continually amazed by how early in life he developed a rational, questioning mindset. Nayak's life story demonstrates the power of following reason and evidence. He makes an excellent case for why we must challenge blind faith and superstition that harms people. I loved hearing about his bold debates, challenges to astrologers and godmen, and advocacy for the anti-superstition bill. We need more voices like his speaking truth in the face of dogma. Pranav brought up thought-provoking points on the social factors enabling superstitions and the motivated pseudoscience promoted by some scientists. Nayak's insights into the forces attempting to take India backward were disconcerting. I sincerely hope the country progresses towards more rationality. This was an eye-opening conversation on the state of reason versus faith in India. Kudos to Pranav for highlighting Nayak's decades of admirable service to the skeptic cause. We could all learn a lot from emulating Nayak's conviction in upholding science and logic.

Awesome interview, so much respect for him since he has been a wall since the 70ies. The biggest take away from this conversation is that education and curiosity eventually get you out of the religious brainwashing. Critical thinking steps in and we are set free to see the world for what it truly is "Magnificent".

My memory goes back to 2012 when he was one of the guest speakers in the tech fest of our college,NIT Trichy, named Pragyan. I was a staunch theist back then and a part of the “general audience”, and I remember his Q&A sessions turning confrontational! However I definitely did takeaway something that day and today I don’t claim to be an outright atheist or rationalist but I can say I’m agnostic.

Having known Nayak Sir for so many years personally , there one thing that i have to tell. If i can think one man who walks his talk and knows no fear, Its Nayak sir. Its been a privilege to us in the rationalist movement here in Mangalore to get to watch him take on pseudoscience head on and unapologetically. The man is the G.O.A.T. Plus he is the sweetest and kindhearted person i know. . Thanks Pranav for an excellent podcast. The world needs to know , what we in the rationalist movement already know about him.

I was in Hubli( twin city of Dharwad ) in Parivarthan Elite ICSE school at the time 9th grade. My Math teacher(Shambulingappa sir) who was a dear childhood friend of Mr. Kalburgi was trying to tell us what happened to his friend. I can now understand why he was trying to hide the reality from us. I am in utter disbelief right now. I always go after Muslims because of the treatment ex-Muslims get and never against Hindus because I personally have never faced any sort of discrimination even after writing vulgar poems about Hindu Gods and God Men. This was one enlightening video. I was of the belief that of all the major religions Hinduism should be the last to go but now I understand, that all of them are equal and are just a threat to Humanity. Edit : I can't thank you enough Pranav for this amazing podcast

Greetings, Pranav sir! I'm a first year mbbs student from gmers medical college. I'm the kind of student who was forced to take pcb despite being interested in Mathematics. So now, I've decided to become a neuroscientist and use my math skills to do research on Neuroscience as it's a very under-researched area of the medical field due to the application of quantum mechanics(which medical students are incapable of solving). I'm highly impressed by your work. I'm extremely concerned about technological advancements and nourishing the next generation of students with curiosity. I would like to collaborate with you(to make high quality educational science & math videos) once I become financially independent. I just told you this in advanced, else I'm excited to get your response and I'll be back after a few years asking you to approve my proposal of collaboration with you. Have a great day ahead!

@theplmotivationofficial although now he's becoming a little politically aligned, with he Congress side. That's why I stopped watching his videos. I saw a video where he was praising Gandhi's way of ahimsa and praising it, saying that Indian society was superstitious and basically indirectly saying Indians were just not capable of fighting back. This offended me very much because what was the 1857 rebellion then? A party? My own ancestors (from paternal side) were involved in this war and we still have the iron barrel of the gun he used(it's mentioned on the gun's barrel that the gun was produced in 1851). He was basically saying that Gandhi was some kind of God-figure for us, pulling us out of superstitions and "civilising us". Funny thing is, the colonial British authorities thought along the very same line about us. Also, how can Gandhi be a great man when he slept naked at the age of 70 with his own underage grand niece? My family takes massive pride in the fact that my ancestors took part in the 1st battle for independence in 1857 and we have a long running tradition of joining the military due to this. My grandpa was in the army, my dad in the railway protection force and I too am preparing for NDA. That statement really offended me and that's what made me stop watching his videos. I understand and it's perfectly OK to be politically aligned but the reason I used to watch him was due to his political non-alignment and unaffiliation. But as we say, funding can change anyone's mentality. He got his funding and he's behaving according to his contract, and that's ok

It is good to hear that bhramin are accepting that how badly they behaved on lower caste people,otherwise most bhramin never accept this but despite😅 this they will spread casteism by feeling superior from other and inferior to other ,actually in india bhraman are bad ,good, intellectual,scholar, sports player ,all things are deciding by them only ,accepting social changes ,but now they are also doing this means jidhar hawa udhar vo pehle honge😅

3:59 So I have to point this Anyone who says praying will get you marks is a fool , Hindu gods atleast never said that they can get you marks if you pray them So turning into a atheist just because god didnt get you good or bad marks is wrong This guy questions about religion in his childhood which is good But he got the wrong answers The problem I have atheist is that instead of actually reading texts like gita and vedas they will just judge the book by its cover People have interpretation to religious stuff and most of them are wrong So listening to people instead of actually studying about it and ignoring the philosophical knowledge it has provided is wrong I am saying Atheist only ask about where is the scientific study about god but wouldn't bother actually studying the texts that have been provided They will just be like "Oh I got marks without praying means everyone praying is a fool because praying doesnt effect results" And anyone who is praying for results is a fool anyway Prayer is done only to find hope and peace

Okay so according to you for someone to become an atheist they must read all the religious texts of your religion? Okay fine, have you read the religious texts of Mormonism? Or have you read religious texts of Judaism? If not then how can you believe in Hinduism even though you have never studied these religions? I would say if you are gonna set a criteria that people should become literal scholars before leaving your religion then you should keep the similar criteria for yourself otherwise you are just being a hypocrite

@@ErenYeager-me4em Brother first of all TATAKAE Team Eren , even in death , even after death And now let me get to my point I was just trying to say that many atheists don't actually bother reading anything related to any religions or what they teach ,they will just shit on them just because of the fact that there is no evidence for god Nor will they ever put light on the philosophical and social knowledge it provides. Another thing that I said was that this person said that I prayed and got good marks and didn't pray still got good marks So people around him told him that prayer effects results This idea is complete bullshit No god ever said that praying alone will bring you success As I mentioned that he got good questions but got the wrong answers for them This could also be a reason why he turned into a atheist because society taught him wrong stuff about religion and then he didn't even care to rectify his knowledge by reading some good books like Gita He didn't like praying before doing everything What he didn't realise that no god asked him to do that Its just the principal who liked to do it I am not blaming him completely I am also blaming theist for misguiding people and acting all superior while being completely wrong

@@rudrakshsharma7726 First of all nice to see another fellow aot fan(TATAKAE BROTHER) and as for your statement so look what am basically saying is that you are using a one-sided analogy like you expect atheists to have a good reason before turning from theist to atheist but then you gotta apply the same logic on theists i.e how many percentage of theists do you think are theists due to reasonable reasons? Most of them are theists using a similar analogy of "prayer didn't work so no god" i.e they believe in God cause that's just how they have been brought up most of them haven't even studied their own religion so how can you ask atheists to give a concrete reason to be an atheist but not ask theists why did they turn theist and to give a concrete reason? My personal opinion: None of them are required to give a concrete reason anybody can be an atheist or theist
