When the canon was formally put into writing in a council (which is the traditional way of giving definitive statements about dogma, you can see this in the council mentioned in acts for example) these texts were not even discussed in any ecumenical council or even local council. 2) When would this supposed mistranslation have happened? The LXX which corresponds with the dead sea scrolls uses the word covet. You should not desire to take what does not belong to you. You can yearn for a wife, but not your neighbors wife, you can yearn for a house but not your neighbors house etc. It's pretty simple. Yearning is a God-given emotion but it has its place. The place is not to desire other people's posessions. 3) The dead sea scrolls don't "predate" the Bible. If you're reffering to the current Biblical canon that's a different question. But in terms of the central OT canon it wasn't all that different, even if it was more fluid than the later canon. All the core books remain though and the LXX as said before corresponds with the LXX (most contradictions brought up are from the masoretic text which is much much younger than the dead sea scrolls and the LXX). 4) I'm not sure why you're bringing up a random american translation of the Bible. I don't know the specifics of the translation method of the NASB but it's pretty irrelevant to the discussion of the Bible, it's one specific translation in one specific language. There's plenty of other translations using multiple different methodologies, you only really run into issues if you affirm some sort of sola scriptura but that's a very specifically protestant idea.

No, it seems the logic in this Movie is that Angels and Demons need to posses Humans in order to occupy the real world. That cult tried to use regular children for Satan to possess in order to escape hell. Those bodies died, hence Satan could not just live outside his realm without them. So as it goes with the Archangel Michael. He had to possess the priest body in order to stay in the real world. So, if you follow that logic all the way, once the priest body dies, Michael will be back in Heaven. And once the jesus clone dies, Satan will be back in Hell, seemingly for good. I mean that's the logic the Movie is going by. "imprisoned forever" is probably a poor turn of phrase. God's plan was to turn the Devil's own idea on it's head, and will be rendered useless incarcerated inside Jesus until the day he dies. And Satan returns right back to Hell. where he'll be imprisoned forever (again) "Imprisoned Forever" sounds like better Movie dialogue. And besides the real Jesus was not Immortal either, so how could an exact clone be? Ok, and it's a frikin Movie..LOL

They could have come up with a better method of obtaining the DNA for cloning from a more clever method. Trapping the entity in a child is a cool idea, maybe it could have been something along the lines of (since they supposedly have the technology to clone humans) maybe they could have figured out a way to stop the ageing process. Trap him in the body of a child that never ages.
