And Bixby did it fairly quick! I think as an actor he was trying to show us visually that Banner's strength increases immediately right when his eyes get weird. Props to Bixby since he really didn't HAVE to do that situp for the transformation. It made the scene all the more freaky!

Ferrigno was the reason why this Hulk was the best. Very little special effects, more great acting. People today don’t know good acting anymore, we put everything on special effects.

Love Hulk and this version. This makes me emotional because they used to relay the repeats on a Saturday late afternoon on ITV in the early 90s and I used to watch this with my little brother when he was a child. Brings back just warm memories of our child/teenhood.

Along with Hulk & Wonderwoman, the superhero shows (in the US) in the 1970s just helped keep this superhero concept alive & moving along to what we have now with the MCU/DCEU, as part of its continuation since the days of Tarzan, Buck Rogers, Batman & Flash Gordon of the early 20th century. Greatest American Hero, Spiderman 1977, Superfriends animation, Superman 1979, Bionic Man/Woman & Shazam (& others) also come to mind when I also watched these as a kid of the `70s. 08/07/24

This was always one of my favourite Hulk outs, the build up to it was fantastic and you can tell Bixby and the crew had fun with the whole making out he's a madman angle when trying to expose the doctor and the way he came across as more and more unstable through simply telling the truth. Proper gaslighting right there.

Actually, Arnold Swarzenegger auditioned but they said he was too short & at 1st they wanted Richard Keel but he would've had to wear a body suit with fake muscles. So that's why they chose Lou.

David was lucky that the patients in the sanitarium who followed him as the Hulk didn't tell the evil doctor and the other people behind him that David is the creature, though the evil doctor didn't see him until much later after the thing used to tranquilize David wore off.
