Oh no we use them on ourselves. Sometimes we do a liitle bit of bug swarm of our own. *Alien:* Gasp of horror.

I shudder and convulse even thinking about the horror and complete obliteration brought forth by it. I really liked this one! And it reminded me of Star Ship Troopers. I have the paperback book somewhere. I've read it a number of times over several decades. I have a number of other books by Robert Heinlein, as I am a fan. I only saw the first Bug movie once on TV, and never watched the series. Although this story is very similar to the one RH wrote, it's not a rip off of it. Instead, it takes a similar story background and comes at it from a different angle. Rather than thinking of it as a copycat story, it actually reads more like a future continuation of the original story. It was very well done. The man reading it aloud had the perfect voice for the role. I could really picture him as a worn down, beat up old soldier, fighting a losing battle--until the Humans came. Great story and great reader!👏👍🐜

If you haven't done so already, you need to read the novel to Starship Troopers. It is waaaaay different than the movie, we also got power armor from it!

@@quarkedbutt3957 the director of the movie was proud that he never read the book. He never understood the book. The points it made. The movie titanic. Yes it was about a big ship that sank, had some people due, a few names the same. But the rest was made up.

Great story. Would love a continuation. For the curator - some refresh on the art to help visualize/increase pizzaz... of the battle or close up of the human, as well as the image/likeness of the soldier who is narrating this story. Some AI art is out there I am sure which can be licensed for this... not sure about or how/if you monetize these stories. Good story, good art - just ideas for more content we can all appreciate.

I actually read a great short story once set from the eyes of a soldier from a high tech army fighting a low tech enemy and how can they keep fighting at such cost to life's and how much but war costs and how politically at home was causing problems. It obviously appeared to me to that it was the US Army Fighting the VC, however the twist came when the soldier read some strange street sign where he was fighting, Bourbon street, turns out in my mind they were hi tech aliens invading earth and they were fighting humans in New Orleans.

While Starship Troopers is a clear source, see also the impact of Human troops coming to help Masood forces and the Weave in their endless struggle against the Amplitur and their hordes (Alan Dean Foster's "A Call To Arms" and its sequels); that seems to be a good analog for the relationship between the races.

Lot of great action in this story. Not very believable that an advanced technological civilization couldn't come up with a better response to wave attacks. Also, cleaning a planet from space is very easy. Just drop rocks on it. BTW, individual infantry is already obsolete. We shouldn't have it now. Definitely would be gone in 100 years. Keep trying, you have talent.

On the title screen, there is a troop of humans with flying insects above and flames irrupt Ing into a mushroom cloud in the background. I assume the humans are the good guys… You have them portrayed as retreating. Going from west to east. Unless our viewpoint is looking at the battle from the north, the heroes are going in the wrong direction. Heroes typically travel from east to west.

Old saying "The enemy always comes from the east" and with last century in mind term hero also not appling, I'm calling that as load of Hollywood crap.

@@Jaegerrants the cowboy/good guy always wears light colored clothes. The bad guy usually wears dark colors, as in the creature that makes the noise in the dark. It’s all crap lol but there’s still a cognitive bias. Hollywood established the rules.
