Graffiti on marines should make a come-back. They were rougher chaps, back in the day. 😄

I miss the days when they would just show you a bunch of colour schemes you could choose, like it was it was a poster for Walls ice-cream lollies. What I do not miss is how they would place the magazines in ridiculous places on the guns. Like I know it is the future and you have amazing new technology which I wouldn't understand and which you have forgotten all meaning of, but the bullet still needs to get into the barrel somehow.
@MrArgus11111Ай бұрын
if they're bolters the barrel length issue is negligible, as they are basically rocket launchers masquerading as guns. You are correct though. The people drawing this stuff didn't know much about firearms.

My guesses for some of the unknown artists: 3:17 Tank belly gun - Ian Miller 13:52 Walking on - Carl Critchlow 16:43 Marines arresting graffiti artist - Carl Critchlow Guessing that the graffiti would say “Marines Out” if the artist hadn’t been interrupted by the Marine. Confident about Carl Critchlow, who was responsible for Thrud the Barbarian which I recall fondly from reading White Dwarf in the 80s. The tank gun is very Ian Miller looking but I can't see that Ian Miller is given a credit as an artist in WH40K Rogue Trader.

These pics take me back to the start of the 90’s. I remember an old friend of mine taking me to his cousins house and he had the first army I’d ever seen. They were almost all Mk 6 beaky marines with a few Mk 7’s and the whole army was painted as White Scars. Never really heard or saw anything more from the Scars for what seemed like more than 20+ yrs.

Nice to revisit this art. My rogue trader was liberated by a tea leaf. The artist who did gun belly and many of the illustrations you feature I think is Ian Miller. He was my favourite.

Genuinely enjoy this content and you seem to be one of the very few covering it. I appreciate the old art quite a bit. It's very imaginative, like doodles a student would do while daydreaming, but of a higher quality. Oldhammer is awesome.

The guy leaving town has an Anarchy symbol on his belt buckle. That came up a lot in the Rogue Trader stuff in the 80s.

The buckle looks like the Anarchy Logal. It's a general logo for a broad political movement. A lot of Punk Bands have used it or variants in Album covers.

You generally don't want to use black as a straight cammo color. You would want to use near black. So very dark browns and blacks.
@Wastelandman7000Ай бұрын
In Terminator, they were all HKs. And painting them black wouldn't do much since they had spotlights, strobe sensors, and on the flying units running lights. Or maybe Skynet couldn't get the ingredients for paint in the apocalypse. I mean, exterminating humanity did come first after all.
@FezFindieАй бұрын
If nothin' else, there's Terminator: Resistance. It's not perfect but it's quite a competent FPS and it wraps up the story of the first two movies with itself organically while giving a future war narrative. And does get the atmosphere right so well. It's almost as if it's made by people actually trying to stay true to the spirit of the original movies rather than somehow get a dose of infinite wisdom and go haywire and confused at the obvious ideas.
