For the first time ever, I didn't watch your, Marko's, new video immediately, and I have been trying to think of why that was. It came down to this, some kind of... skill-depression/master fatigue. I have painted here and there for many years, but not to a level I think is good, which is of course my problem, and not something I blame others for. But every time I see your work, Marko, I am completely blown away. Your skill, the way you master the different aspects of even individual paint manufacturers to get the results you want, is just mind boggling. And not only that, the way you explain things, have given me more insight into this hobby than I’ve ever had before. You and Vince Venturella are, for me, the true masters of miniature painting on KZbin, and the all-mighty algorithms of KZbin should be pushing your videos to the front page, every day! So, what’s wrong? To be honest, you are too good. I know you too make mistakes, and I know that you have done this professionally for a long time, and I know that I am not a professional, and that shouldn’t be what I am for, and still… Dammit man, you are so freaking good! I absolutely love your art style and your videos, and I will keep watching them and keep promoting them to others. But, if I could make a humble request, it would be this, Is it possible for you to make a short video that shows how you got to this stage? Like… old miniatures or paintings or something. Because I know, logically, there was a learning curve for you too, but emotionally, I don’t see it, and my brain uses this against me, and against me continuing with this amazing hobby. Love your work man. Many long-distance manly hugs from Sweden!

Thanks a million man! Really, from the heart 😊 I understand the feeling and I can totally relate because sometimes I feel the same seeing the production of other great painters 😅 there's always someone better! It could be an interesting topic to explore in video... In the meantime the short answer is: a ton of constant practice, study and good teachers. I know it's cheesy and not a groundbreaking revelation 😅 but I really believe this is the only way to become good at anything

@@MarcoFrisoniNJM haha, I know man, practice makes perfect! :D Thanksbfor your reply, sometimes it's nice to know that even badass people have bad days. I think the best part of this, for me, is the basing, as I can modify that to get some... *other* results. Use a super bright lime green or pastel blue and suddenly it's not lava, it's magic. Thanks, Marco!

@MarcoFrisoniNJM3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a million! When you know how to handle the airbrush, working on the average size of our figures you don't produce any notable overspray and it's totally safe to use (I don't have overspray even on my cutting mat) but beginners tend to be heavy on the trigger and make a mess covering everything in coloured dust 😅. It's a steep learning curve but the first attempts can be really really messy. It's always a good idea to have a respirator for high volume works (I use mine every time I have to prime more than a couple of models)

I really like the bases. And i have to say i have some ideas about applying crackling effects. I have a couple of questions though 1) assuming they are acrylic can can you change their color by adding paint? (i am referring to the AK crackle effects) 2) the same procedure applies to them as well? ( pva glue and then hairdryer?)
@MarcoFrisoniNJM3 жыл бұрын
Thanks!!! You can add colours to the AK paste but you have to use the minimum amount possible because you are lowering the concentration of the components that make it work. Yes, PVA glue and hair dryer work always like a charm!
