The breathing technique of bringing air into the upper left rear rib cage and lower right front rib cage has been a tremendous help! I was only breathing in the upper right rear and lower left front! I already feel calmer and my posture has done some readjustment just with this simple breathing technique.

Yes. That’s really the starting point of PRI. Get air into the right side/upper front (just below the clavicle) and posterior left ribs. If those areas don’t “open” our spine and pelvis can’t rotate to the left.

@@NealHallinan Thanks for the reminder about those two keys areas too! I forgot, even though I have watched all of your videos. :-) You are so much appreciated Neal!

Can I ask please, how is it that you know which part of the diaphragm you were using? Is that you just sensing which part or is there a specific test? I'm interested to understand this. Thank you 😊
@amyhoop96513 жыл бұрын
@@73kristilee It wasn't a test. I was simply feeling it when I breath. I can tell where the air is going and not going.

I'm literally binge watching your videos, and feeling very grateful I stumbled upon you and your channel. I've abandoned the traditional medical system after decades of pain and frustration dealing with specialists, sometimes feeling like I knew more than them, and definitely feeling like I was being dismissed and even scorned for daring to ask important questions or pointing out information that they refuse to acknowledge. It's an utter disgrace. So I'm very thankful and soaking up all this information that just feels right ☺️

I'd highly recommend working with a certified Postural Restoration therapist if you have the chance.

I can feel a change in my left foot when I focus my breathing and directing air towards the upper right front and lower left back. My left foot almost feels like it expands a bit when I breathe in. I am laying down doing this, but definitely a feeling of change and expansion in my left foot. How interesting.

Expanding those areas with air allow our body weight to shift to the left side, which would "press" the left foot down into the ground more.

Thank you Neal. I always look forward to your new vids. This lady is so knowledgable. Would you consider please having an interview with someone who would explain/ discuss if/how neurological changes/connections could have any impact on a body's biomechanics? Your biggest fan. Thank you Sir :).

Hey Neil, just recently discovered your videos, they are very informative. As someone who has had this issue for several years, it can be very discouraging to go through many trials and errors until finding what works. I have a better understanding on how I should approach this issue, but my biggest problem is how to begin the process. If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your input.. thanks again for the content

All I can suggest is finding a PRI therapist.

@@NealHallinan thanks again, I've been watching your videos nonstop and they really have been teaching me so much. Starting to think that I'm just stuck in the left aic right bc pattern, which in turn has resulted in many compensations which doctors have falsely diagnosed.. I appreciate all the work you do Neil so I cannot thank you enough. God bless

I have piriformis syndrome in my left glute. I have a neutral pelvic orientation I think (it might be rotated to the left ever so slightly). I have a slight lateral pelvic tilt where the right side is slightly higher. My right obliques are weaker than my left obliques and when I bend forward (go to touch my toes) my abs rotate to the right. My left obliques also feel more tight and compressed than the right. I think my ribcage leans over slightly to the left. My right scapula sticks out more than my left scapula. The right side of my neck feels more stiff and tighter than the left side. What should I do?

You need to seek help from someone certified through the Postural Restoration Institute and watch as many videos on my channel as you can to understand "the patterns".

@@NealHallinan Good interview Neil. Susan mentions the common scoliotic pattern as a pronounced feeling in the left lower quadrant and also the right upper quadrant; is this consistent with PRI findings? Neil can you show any exercises to do for the internal and external intercostal muscles please.

@@ruebenandrews9914 they are on my pritrainer.com website. The pattern Susan mentions is the same as the right BC pattern, just more exaggerated

What i dont understand is why we are convinced that structural scoliosis cant be fixed if it can get worse. My doctor told me ''it cant be fixed because youve reached maturity and the skeleton doesnt change at this point'' but then how come people can get structural scoliosis at any age? And does that not mean that even if its more difficult, torsion forces can affect the spine at any age? for bad AND for good? Like i cant belive that my spine can only be twisted the wrong way as i get older but not back to the neutral position

Do these apply to adults?

Yes, all these principles apply to adults. Schroth therapy is successfully used for adults as well.
