Day 8 of our journey from Laide to the beautiful Lochcarron, via Inverewe Gardens and Torridon, is a stunning scenic route. From Fearnmore around the Applecross peninsular, we head south with beautiful but distant views of the Isle of Rona, Raasay and Skye. Finally, the notorious Applecross Pass (Bealach na Ba) is an awesome drive and finale to the day!

Hi Nigel, have really enjoyed your films. Gorgeous photography and great and very respectful narration. I live in Lochcarron so it was great to see your photos of my village. Sorry you didn't get to see red deer with antlers, but that's because deer shed their antlers in April and May and grow them again thereafter so they will have been fully regrown for breeding season and the winter. Sorry too that you had so much rain, May is usually a good month in the Highlands, but last year was a very bad one weather-wise. If you want to see red deer stags (with antlers) mid September- mid October is often the best time to visit. The leaves are turning then too and it can often be the most glorious time of year. Off to watch your Lochcarron video now.

Hi Cindie, Thanks so much for commenting on my video, and thanks for the info on the deer! Wow, you certainly live in a beautiful village and I think I could live there quite happily too. No doubt the winters can be harsh I guess, but seeing the changes through the seasons must be awesome. Cheers
