The night I met Scott, he was making a bedding out of cardboard in a doorway. He says he has been sleeping rough in Central London for 6 weeks now. Scott lost everything in a matter of days. Nowhere to live. No Money. His clothes. Everything!

Yep. I have had one of the worst December’s of my life. I’ve been abandoned pretty much by those who said they cared but spent time with others when I needed them the most. It hurts so bad, but even though I am pretty much alone. I have my mother and father and still a roof over my head.

Pretty sure Salvation Army will help with clothes & food. Also they help with reuniting families, so if he needs help with contacting people they would probably make phone callls or lend a phone. It is true that for council housing you need a local connection but not for getting help with other things.

He had to be cared at that time by the appropriate systems and had to be in a shelter even though he had no job. It seems to be so tough to be on the street worrying about ways to get a job without having somewhere to take a shower .

1:55 You can go there on foot. 6 km per hour, 60 km per day. You'll need food and water and sleep for the other 14 hours. You can save some money and so you'll have food and water for the journey. You can rest one or two days somewhere on the road if you need it. LE: or better clandestine traveler with a train. What they can do to you if you''ll be busted? Take what from you? I know a guy that travels like this all the time (though not in England). LE2: I was in a situation to go back to home on foot. 100 km or so. I had money for just 2 whole breads, one bread per day. I was ready to do it but fortunately someone gave me money for buss.

Many people wish they could re-set their relationship with their family to a "normal" setting but often the family's (or a dominant family member''s) behavior towards the person prevents this from happening. But it doesn't stop the isolated member from wanting to try.

Some are mental who fell through the cracks. Yet some Are in there 50s and from years of not taking care of there selfs there bodys and backs are giving out. But there to young to retire or get S. S. Social services in most countries fail the homeless. From a legal standpoint, it’s hard to give benefits to people who are hard to track, but in more societal sense, a lot of places just don’t have respect and decency for the homeless.

Our local council will only help people with local connections. I have a friend who is from Poland, and she became homeless, and the council wouldn't help her because she had no local connections. Sad, but also sadly true.

There would be help available for him in the North East, where he has a connection. The system is designed to make sure that local people who have a connection get priority over those who are new to the area. That's got nothing at all to do with giving help to people from the Middle East - there are resettlement programmes to help families who have come from war torn battle grounds and seen their homes and lives destroyed, that is a completely different thing.
