A chap here in Melbourne campaigned a Riley Kestrel with good results.

Further explanation of the rally would be greatly appreciated as we have nothing to compare here in the USA.

Elise , as an Ace Navigator, could you please explain to me the ‘regularities’ work? I am an 84 year old Australian, so I’ll never get there in person.

I was in the Inca Trail 2001 and have the VCS (USA version).....is this anywhere on KZbin? My VCR is on its last legs. 73 Merc & 56 Austin.

Great videography but would be great to have an insight to how these rallies work - are tests timed to the second regardless of car, what’s the average speed on a regularity or does it vary, how does a joker work, how do competitors work out the route? Etc etc Maybe the competitors could be drafted in to do this…

Hi Colin, thanks for your comment. As it happens we are working on a video that will help with understanding this. Alternatively you can attend our training days where we go into comprehensive detail on all the above topics.

@@HEROERArally thanks for your reply but as my involvement will probably be limited to marshalling, spectator and enthusiast, paying to attend one of your excellent training days wouldn’t really be a viable option. I’m sure other enthusiasts like myself on the fringes would definitely appreciate the insight into what’s going on. Whilst marshalling, I’ve had members of the general public ask me so it would be good to be able to enlighten them as well. Most recently, Mrs G and I marshalled a TP - as competitors were given their times, they would express either delight or dissatisfaction (and confusion!) so it would be good to know and add to our enjoyment, how they were trying to achieve their ‘target’ time. It was great that we had a follow-up email thanking us for marshalling with a result attachment but I couldn’t really decipher them…
