Lemmy was, more than anything, a man who had no illusions about himself. That line "not anymore. Now I was a fact" sums it up. He just existed as himself, didn't fall victim to believing his own legend, and stayed genuine.

5 years gone and I still miss him. This is the first time I've seen this interview, what an intelligent, honest man he was. I met him back around 79/80 in a bar, when Motorhead were at the peak of their success. He was with a load of people, but he still took a few minutes to talk with me and my friend, who were both probably pissed at the time!

6:23 - 6:42 "That's for me" is a rather clear answer. I, for one, would've moved on to something else. Lemmy always gave thoughtful and direct answers to proper questions, but he didn't necessarily suffer fools gladly. It wasn't a foolish question the *first* time, but...take the hint, sir. 😐 As always with Lemmy, that was fascinating. Thank you very much for the video! 🤘 😀

I've never seen an interview like this where Lemmy truly thinks about the questions. I think it must have been a refreshing change of interview style for him. I agree with you about the change of interview style. The questions were probing but respectful enough and I'm guessing he was at least briefed beforehand that this would be a particular kind of interview and agreed to proceed. In the end it yielded some very interesting info and views from Lemmy so kudos for that. As for hate.. well who hasn't gotten a bit sniffy on their hero's behalf at some point :)

The patience Lemmy had with dumb questions from witless interviewers revealing absolutely nothing new about the man is highly commendable, it’s way beyond tolerance, something much deeper than empathy and my own tolerance for idiots - but I ain’t no nice guy. What a rare gem of an interview; if you give up watching this then you’ll also miss possibly the single most revealing interview of Lem and the layers are cleverly peeled away to his very core. Great upload, clever interview, and a very rare insight into the man we all admire and miss. Brilliant. Thank you for sharing this.

As honest as Lemmy is, I really think there's some real deprived pain deep down in him and he's just been numb to it for so long he forgot it's there. I don't agree with him not being there for his kid, but he's too lost to know. But, his outlook works for life, and like he said, he doesn't mind being alone, and he's not hurting anyone, and that's enough for him. Same goes for me. Amen

Also gotta remember that he made choices he can live with. I’ve never heard a story of Lemmy hurting someone for example. Not even the trail of women he left behind seem to have any hard feelings. The man was moral to the core even if it wasn’t always in socially acceptable ways. If i was gonna explain a Lemmy philosophy to a child it’d be literally be yourself and harm no person more than they deserve. There’s nothing original about what we can learn from Lemmy, but the way he did it is just extremely impressive. Even his son being fatherless was of no fault of Lemmy’s
