Very interested to learn about the Japan only warranty issue for GS bought there. Thanks Andrew! Was planning to take advantage of the weak yen and pick up a GS on an upcoming visit to Tokyo. But I may have to reconsider that! All is not lost - I can get the sane watch here in NZ duty free and make a saving that way, whilst also getting a warranty I can actually rely on here in NZ. The watch I have in mind is a Spring Drive, so I’d hate for something to go wrong with that and be left high and dry on the warranty-front!

Take advantage of the saving if something goes wrong you can bring the watch to your local service centre and they will ship it to Japan on your behalf.

The Bel Canto strap should be taller to go with the taller than average case. The strap it comes with is thinner than the average strap and the edges are beveled to even thinner. Maybe a mm or so thicker and without a beveled edge. The leather strap they but on aquitaines and sealanders fits the watch fine though, In my opinion.

British law is a lot older and more nuanced than countries who do use Statute of limitations as standard statutory law. It all depends on the offence, at what point any new evidence comes to light and did the investigators and prosecutors act with expediency, once they had any new evidence. . Some offences and cases remain open regardless of time. Some cases have been brought after decades due to new sciences and technologies like dna profiling.
