Imagine already being a talented musician, recently signed by Sony, then having it all snatched away, and being restricted by exhaustion and pain for 10 years. That is where his hunger comes from. His disease that held him back, also gave him the longest apprenticeship in which to analyse, and perfect his art. How many of his songs could you say sounds like anything else? Not even his own stuff does! Time did indeed make a monster.

Sorry, so many edits in this: Uncle Scott, it's worth mentioning in the future that Ren's album 'Sick Boi' got to number 1 in the UK in Oct 23 despite not being signed to any label, without any live performances, appearances, normal promotion etc AND Hi Ren is not on that album. That is an enormous achievement in it's own right!

I've been going back and looking at posts in Ren and The Big Push's social media from way back, just to see what's there and what kind of comments they were getting at the time. Pretty interesting. But relevant here because at the time The Big Push fans were like, dude, you can rap... but why? Your singing is where it's at. And Ren was just like... because I want to 🤷🏻‍♀️ And now you have the people who heard his upcoming projects aren't rap and they're all... but you're killing this! And Ren's like... because I want to 🤷🏻‍♀️ Personally, I'm glad he does the side projects for fun while working on the larger projects. He might be working on singing stuff, but he gave us the NAS retake and Money Ties ajd whatever else. And when he was working on Sick Boi he was releasing the Chinchilla duets. He might choose a focus, but U sincerely doubt he's going to starve any fanbase. He just loves it *all* too much.

I think Ren’s isolation over the years has contributed to him listening to his inner voice instead of external pressures when it comes to music. He grew up in a musical household with exposure to a huge variety of different musical genres so he said he never realized there were informal rules about how someone was supposed to sound at any given time. BTW, my smoke detector literally saved my life (but not my house). Always have one by your bedroom & in your kitchen. Always. Anyone who reads this, please put a date on your calendar where you check your batteries whether it’s chirping or not. 💜

Definitely Back on 74 next😊. Great guest. Love her❤. Only the video is one shot, but you probably know that. He wrote this year's ago. 2016 or 2017. He makes it look easy. From all I've seen of his stuff on Insta, his BTS vids, Ren doesn't just put a song together, grab his friends and record. He plans every step out meticulously. There's absolutely a LIVE live one-take video of The Hunger, but this one is a one-take video with Ren lip synching to the studio recording. He shows us in that live video that he CAN nail the rap delivery on top of the beat in a performance, but it's not the same audio precision we get here with his vocals.

Okay, one difference between then hunger and hi ren is that forHi REN, he’s recording the sounds as they recorded the video parts, different camera angles. The Hunger was, as far as I can tell, a studio recording of the song, then a single take for the video, and he lip-sync’d. I am not !00% sure of that, though. But we heard no background sounds from the place he was at.

I'm hoping Ren never moves to the USA . He is who he is, where he is. Sadly he is too unwell for touzring in the normal way. I'm Aussie and expect I will never get to see him live. It's ok though because , as others have said ..Ren must be protected at all costs.

Ren plans to move to the US. He thinks that's the best place to be career wise, but it's been put on hold due to his latest heath issues, which has sent him back to living in Canada. I'm not sure how long this round of treatment will last, but I'm guessing he will still move to the US as soon as he's able to, but you never know he could change his mind.
