My dad passed in 2012 at the age of 65. He looked so much like Kenny Rogers, especially when I was a child, when he had salt and pepper hair. Later in his life, the last 15 years, he was Santa, with his all white hair and beautiful blue eyes. Every time I see Kenny Rogers, on tv or hear his music, I think of my dad. My dad loved his music also. I will always remember my parents dancing to “through the years”. Such great music and great memories for so many of us.

When i was growing up my peers asked me who my favorite singer was and i can remember saying Kenny Rogers. Meanwhile everyone made fun of me because they were all into AC/DC which i only listened to in secret since music like that was not played in my childhood home. One of my favorite memories of Kenny was him being onstage and he had his son Christopher on his shoulders and suddenly Kenny said we need to wrap this up I feel something warm running down my back. I just loved him the original silver fox!

Thank you! This meant so much to me. I'm almost 73 and Kenny has been my heart for as long as I can remember. His music has ALWAYS been a part of my life. My youngest son took me to one of his shows in Columbus, Ohio. It was a dream come true. After that he came to another nearby city a couple of years later . I bought myself a ticket and drove myself to that show all by myself. His wife and twin sons came out on the stage with him. He was ill that night, fighting an upper respiratory bug, but he was still fantastic. I'm so glad I had those chances to finally see him in person. It was a standing joke between me and my late husband that Kenny was the only guy he would "allow" me to spend a few hours with. LOL Thankyou for leaving the stone, for brushing the dust from his beautiful resting place and for letting me see his amazing monument.

I am a Metal Head. Pure and through and through. Kenny always had a softspot for me. I loved the movie "SixPack" and all his songs that came throughout the '70s/'80s. His brand of Country (And a lot of artists from his time period.) Was the only Country I could stand. I think from the 90s on, I just stopped liking Country - PERIOD - Kenny Rogers will be missed. He was a treasure to listen to. Merry Christmas to all and you as well Scott. Love your channel, Great content!

My husband said that Kenny, was a legend for the way he "checked out." Keep in mind, Kenny is one of my favorites of all time. One day, we were listening to "The Gambler" and out of no where my husband says, "Ya know, Kenny is a legend, and I don't mean with his music and stuff I mean, Kenny knew 'when to fold 'em' because he checked out right before Covid hit!" Or something to that nature and everytime I think about it, I giggle. RIP Kenny, thank you for the amazing songs and being a part of my childhood into adulthood!

Coward of the County is my favorite Kenny song too. I met him once at a mall in Athens GA when I was around 14. Very nice man. My mom was a huge fan and was nearby so we got to a pay phone and asked her to come to the mall. Kenny waited for her and my mom was able to meet him. Kenny’s son Christopher was in a stroller and I had my cousin Christopher with me and the two sort of shook hands as 2-3 year olds. Cute. I have a loose connection to Marianne Gordon through my Grandmother on my dad’s side which I didn’t know at the time. I remember Marianne walking up and she had such a presence. Thanks Scott. Kenny Rogers did have a home outside of Los Angeles before and then he moved to another place in Georgia where he had ranch outside of Atlanta and a lake on the ranch called “Lake Christopher” after his son Christopher. Gambler movies were his best, he did a few movies called “McShane”, as a private investigator but those were not shown often and didn’t have same chemistry as the Gambler movies did.

I was at a table up front, trying to get a photo of the entire band. He saw me and stopped the show. He told everyone to come to the front of the stage and they posed for me to take photos. I walked up to the stage to thank him and he touched my face, which I swore I would never wash again. lol. He was so gracious and kind and I was a lifelong fan.
