Loved this movie, thanks for the memories. I’m one of those people from Etobicoke and we didn’t want to amalgamate with Toronto. Lol. The psychiatric hospital was my play ground growing up in the 1970’s being half a block away. We watched them film the scenes there and on Lakeshore. When I was young and my parents took me to Kensington Market you could smell the cheese out on the streets it was so strong. Later when I was older I remember going to all the clothing stores and introduced my children there too. Ty Scott.

It's great that you recorded this classic movie location! Almost the entire film was shot in Canada, and I noticed a few scenes filmed in Chicago. I didn't even know it was filmed in Toronto until I found your KZbin channel. I wish they hadn't demolished those iconic movie locations for historical purposes so we could visit them yearly, but that's just my wish.

You got a 'cheers' from Steve Guttenberg, that's cool 80s shiznitz. Lots of Canadian born actors in this movie (including the many sequels made thereafter). I remember the Teskey Construction truck in the film. The Teskey company had a mansion on Jane St. north of Teston Side Rd. south of the King Rd. in the early 80s with their own stocked trout pond. It's long-gone now but I remember driving by it daily on my way to work at Canada's Wonderland. In those days Maple and King City still had their own municipal airports. Legend has it most of the Police Academy primary actors (original movie) flew in and out of those airports back-in-the-day. I parked my '77 Ford LTD in that very parking lot (by Roy Thompson Hall) going to see the premier of 'Stayin' Alive' in the spring of '83. Well said about Kensington Market in the 21st century. You will get no more 'real' action than with the TPS homie.

Where the riot starts is at Dundas St West and High Park Ave..you can see the Buskett Bakery in the background..down the road a bit, we see at about the 1:15:00 mark, a thug goes to a pool hall and announces that there's a riot going on..that was Mimmo's Place at 2907 Dundas St W.the owner at the time, Dominic, is in this scene at the right playing pool with an old lady. The next street over to the east of that is Mavety Street so if you went down there and turn right at the laneway, that's where Barbara beat up his bullies, directly behind Mimmo's. If you go back up to Dundas St. W towards Dupont/Annette, you'll run into the old 5 Star Pizza at 2733 Dundas Street West. It's seen at the 1:18:24 mark as the cadets are being dispatched by Harris. You can still see the Italian flags on the front window to this day. My father lived in the top apartment there in the final years of his life. He died on Friday, April 13th, 2018, the same day I was in the area at the Revue cinema watching a screening of Friday, the 13th The Final Chapter. Anyways, thought I would share.

The locations and the whole environment there makes me want to go back to Toronto. I don’t think I went to Kensington market but did go to the Eaton Centre and Gerrard Street. My friend lived in Brampton at the time and it snowed for me just for one day in April. Flights cancelled to the US and Canada now. Looks like I will be visiting March/April next year. Winter this year wouldn’t be a good idea. Let’s see. I enjoyed watching this video Scotty. Thanks. Must mention I love your hair. You look really cool. All the best. Take care. Be safe.
