30 - BUT I have quite severe autism - which will influence pretty much every question- such as shallow affect, not obeying cultural norms etc.I try extremely hard to be a nice person and not upset anyone- psychopaths would not do that unless they had ulterior motives. Also some are nuanced. if I said zero to crime in youth, but had not admitted regularly speeding on quiet roads , recording CDs or tapes - that would be not taking responsibility and need a two on that question 😂 Plus is it grandiose to say you are a genius when objectively you are? Are winning world championships in sport unrealistic if you are talented and intend to (but fully know lack of financial and other support not lack of talent may be problematic). Is a lifestyle parasitic if you are disabled and can’t work (but are training for world championships)? I don’t think so, disabled people deserve to have hopes and dreams too, but is that not being realistic and taking responsibility? If you can train for x hours per day, could you work instead - even though you would quickly have a mental breakdown? Aa for lies ….. maybe you lie for a reason. I am very badly scarred. I don’t necessarily want people to know the truth about them. I think too hard on these things.
@JennyThePhilosopher4 ай бұрын
I congratulate you for learning about body language so that you can better understand what people are thinking and feeling. Autism is often misunderstood as narcissism or psychopathy. Dr. Ramani explains the difference here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnanlZRvaLKSo8ksi=Kf10HVmu2At7Iugh. It's very hard for someone with autism to develop narcissism because it's hard to have glib charm, lie effectively, or figure out how to be manipulative. Because psychopathy is neurological, I think it's possible to be autistic and a psychopath, but they probably would be a 0 or 1 for charm, lying, and manipulation.

I stole some trinket and was.nabbed at 15 years old by detectives. I was so humiliated and embarrassed in front of my parents,friends, teachers, the police, a judge. I have never taken one thing since. So, I had remorse. Looking way back in time, my parents were under extra pressure in their small mom and pop shop. They had no family to help them. They thought I was old enough to take care of myself. I wasn't at all prepared to repell peer pressure and I grabbed a tiny purse. That was around 55 years ago. I found out that my dad told the Judge to REALLY scare me to death. My dad scared me more because he was talking so fast he was spitting and out right crying. He was driving and I was in the back seat and he was.trying to swat at me. Mom was in the front passenger seat. Dad almost hit a tree swerving off the road swatting at my.legs. He then talked to me and we. calmed.down. I kept my word. I'm 73 and I learned my lesson.

@@fitnesssoup7553 Yes! The test to know that you're accurately assessing others is that you are able to first honestly examine yourself. It's a truth that the more truthfully you see and know yourself, foibles and all, the clearer you are able to see into others. The hardest part is knowing a lot about these character disorders and the typical behaviors that make them so dangerous to us, is in cutting off these relationships. And, to do so 💙 before we pay the inevitable price for allowing these people in our lives. I had to learn the hard way several times. I was diagnosed with psychopathy, and before that I was diagnosed with conduct disorder as a child. I got 37 the first time I did the test and on this test I had 35. I think it was lower because I made new friends who are very empathic and now I am getting their germs. I am described by people as a very cheerful person, friendly, and that I am a very fun person to be around and a funny person who makes perverted jokes. It’s only really at home when alone that I have a more flat and brooding demeanour. Sometimes when I go out with friends I forget to “turn it off” and I can come across as gloomy and blunt. I remember someone told me that I sounded threatening and I was surprised I guess I wasn’t paying attention to my tone or words. Apparently I had told them that I would put them in a freezer and put their arms and legs in separately. Sometimes I do forget things that I say to others because it’s not a big deal to me 😅 I try to be better so that I don’t disappoint them. Because for me, it would be like acting in a way that is inadequate, and it would make me feel bad if I acted below a certain standard. My friend is a genuinely good person, so even though we are different, I respect him a lot. So in a situation, I would think about what he might do, and do that. Some people call this a conscience of a lack thereof but I don’t really know what that is, it’s not something I think can be defined? In the most concrete way, it’s probably just morals and ethics, which are the we grow up with and learn. With psychopaths we are more willing to be flexible with these in order to pursue a greater goal in a more immediate time frame, which is essentially living my life by the phrase “the end justifies the means”. I think that my “ruthless” nature has provided many people with a much needed reality check about how life really works, and has improved people’s lives for the better. I really like my friend but I feel like some of them are too gullible and see too much good in other people. I am not old enough to be married nor do I want to be so I think that was a factor here. So in this model, young adults will always have 1-2 points deducted since won’t have been married before. I think they should change it to long term relationships and not specifically marriage.

The most important part is having absolute self honesty when taking this exam, otherwise its just not accurate, but this segway's into another issue, these questions apply to most of the incarcerated repeat offenders in the united states, however they refuse to seek help so that means we must have a ton of psychos among us

Score:35 My family says they have known since I was a kid. Formally diagnosed at 50 yrs old. In my late teens I set 5 rules that I must adhere to that kept me away from trouble with the law. (and otherwise never got caught) Early 30’s that was increased to 10 rules that kept me away from trouble with “normal” people. I now live happily in the shadows as an actor impersonating normal people to avoid detection.

A psychopath is unlikely to self report a high score, they are perfect and superior after all (according to themselves), and unlikely to answer honestly anyway. And the only empathy they have is for themselves, we are all just bit players for their amusement. I did this years ago on my ex-husband (domestic abuser), it pretty much put him in the zone, at the very least extreme narcissist, but certain he was at least an entry level psychopath. Fun times, trying to avoid the several attempted homicides. Anyway, I got a 9. Which is perfectly low-hanging fruit for a psychopath. That is the benefit of doing this test, to find out if you are likely going to be a target. The lower your score, the more likely you will become a target.

I gave myself a 7. Gave my mother 30 and less than a year younger sister 29, but I haven't had contact with them in over a decade and haven't seen them in 13 years. Growing up with the 2 of them was so stressful and depressing. They have used so many people that because I am related to them most of my family will have nothing to do with me because they assume my mother is playing a new con or that I'm just like them. They didn't seem to care about what was right or wrong or just didn't know? I remember being very young in elementary school knowing something was wrong with my mother and trying to explain that to my sister, but over the year I watched as she picked up our mothers tricks, put her own spin on it and was worse in a lot of ways. I wouldn't be surprised if my sister was actually a higher score, but this is just off what I know for sure.

Five. Scott, if someone scored highly on this scale, would they have the capacity to honestly evaluate their own personality? For instance, the question about taking responsibility for their actions - I know people who don't do this but appear to be completely unaware of this tendency. Similarly, are people aware of their own inability to feel empathy? I just wonder if someone who scores highly on this scale would be able to accurately evaluate their own behaviours? Or - maybe I'm overthinking things :D

Would a genuine psychopath be honest about answering? I mean, is there enough self awareness of how they affect others for them to be honest?

Exactly, of course a psychopath can’t be reliable to self report but it can give an idea. Some psychopaths are self aware. Many are not.

If we scored quite low on the test, is it an indication of a different type of personality disorder? Are we supposed to have a "balance" with the pendulum somewhere in the middle? Are we perhaps more likely to be victims of psychopaths if we scored really low, or might it be a sign that we are self-deceptive?
