With that holtow commercial talking about the light of the sun going out, the blinking cashout box in the dark in the teaser trailer and that line in the notes about checking if the lights were on, I was pretty convinced they were gonna add a new ingame event with the map becoming dark. I was pretty sad that this was not a thing

Good video. A couple extra details…Ariad from CNS is shown in Engimo’s advertisements. He’s one of the faces. All the CEOs are named after rocks (Rutile, Beom-Seok, Petronelle, Lapis, Scoria) except Engimo’s where you have to change 1 letter Ichikawa to Ishikawa, C to S. The credits show that all the sponsors are subsidiaries of MultiCo Entertainment Holdings so they own the game and the sponsors.

For lore, I would’ve picked Holtow because Sun insurance miiiiight be useful for anything in later seasons, but I picked Iseul-T for the accessories. I have no evidence but I’m suspicious of them, on some items in their sponsorship it says that they don’t care who you are as long as you stay signed. Also, people don’t know who the boss is. Hoping I’m not working for some CNS creeps. Edit: just watched video. I WAS RIGHT I GUESSED LORE NOOOOOO I WORK FOR HACKERS can I get some sun insurance?

Glad to have had this vid recommended to me, I've personally felt that The FINALS had ample opportunity to lean into lore than other games given its in-universe position as a popular virtual tournament. Seeing that there is likely to be more info on Season 3 going in to 4 than meets the eye is something cool to think about. Worth noting you can go unsponsored for this season.. I wonder if that would mean anything or nil.

I thought about that too. It may be that the unsponsored aren't affected by any mid-season changes lore-wise. We're currently in the Engimo Circuit. I imagine once we hit the Iseul-t Cup on November 7th, something big might go down!

I’ve felt the same way about CNS’ takeover of the game show, there’s definitely something going on. But, if you ask me, I think Volpe was collaborating with CNS. I forget which lore vignette specifically mentioned it but I remember Scotty or June mentioning something about Volpe’s “tech” not being able to block CNS from tampering with the game show. And in another lore vignette, the teaser for Terminal Attack, I think June says something about Volpe’s tech “letting them in.” With this information, I believe Volpe is the number one suspect of the CNS highjack we saw in Season 2. (Great video btw)

I love the deep lore they've put-in to 'The Finals', it makes the game even better than it already is !! With that in-mind, I Really think they should make a proper single-player campaign mode.....With all the lore they've created for the game, they could make a great story mode for us to blast our way through with multiple layers and hidden elements throughout.....They could add new chapters to the story / campaign with the release of each season !! Just a thought and a wish of mine.....What do you think people !?!?

Exploring the unseen side of the sponsors would be interesting in a campaign. From what I've seen in the past, launching a title without single player alongside multiplayer doesn't work out, but I could totally see potential in "investigations" for sponsors. In fact, I heard a key detail from Holtow in the new season. Looking into that soon!

It's very sus that at the end of season 1 holtow website was hacked, then came season 2. Every sponsor has a map and sponsors could control events like meteor shower and etc. So is it possible, that holtow was hacked and their "admin" access to the finals was shared with CNS?

It may be so and that Holtow is being controlled from the inside. There aren't a lot of supporting details yet, but there was a mile-long reddit thread that may bring this to light. We'll have to wait and see.
