I bought a 1500 dollar 1999 Toyota Camry ce in 2023 and it drove perfectly fine for an older vehicle, then I had to replace rear bakes and head gasket had everything checked and its good to go until something else breaks 😂

The reason most manufacturers offer long warranties is to draw in buyers that are iffy about trusting the brand. It is actually a bad look in my opinion. Most Toyota and Honda owners don't need their warranty because they don't break.

Hubby & I just bought a 2016 Buick Enclave for 13,900 about a month ago. We got it not only bc the consumer reviews were great and the history of the vehicle, but also because Scotty talked about how great they are! We got an awesome deal on it, has most of the same features as some of the newest models except we have the drop down DVD player in place of the moonroof. We’re currently getting ~26mi MPG, which is a LOT more than we’re getting with our two other older vehicles. No complaints! 50k mi warranty, drives AMAZING, QUIET on the interstate, smooth transmission-I’m in love 🥰

@@dangerous8333 its a 17 year old car with no major repairs that still gets 48 mpg. The avg mpg for all cars in 2007 was 26 mpg. The mpg can change depending on how a person drives, age, and terrain. also lack of maintenance or old age can cause the engine to just lose efficiency. I doubt you can keep up the exact same pace you did when you were new/young and the same is for cars/anything in the world. for instance my 2001 mercedes doesnt get the 26 mpg on the highway or the 168 horses like it originally did because its old. it realistically gets more like 20 mpg if im slow. and its impressive if you compare it to a brand new 2024 Prius that gets 57 mpg. a brand new 2024 hybrid sonata gets 47 mpg. i got the 17 yr old car for cheap that drives, has perfect AC, more mpg, no premium gas, no expensive repairs (yet), has 17yr old original hybrid battery, engine, and "trans". idk I'm pressed for a 17 yr old vehicle when some vehicles get considered antiques at 25-35. Some new cars and EV's don't even make it to 60k miles

As far as tire speed rating goes, it's also about durability and preventing belt separation at high speeds. The belt separation forces are incredible at speed.

I have a ford edge 2015. 3.5L. Has a waterpump leak that comes from below the transmission on right side. Coolant level goes down but oil is clean. I'm monitoring both the oil and coolant daily and constantly monitor the engine temp. I'll eventually fix the water pump but since its very costly and time consuming, I wonder if with my driving habit (~40 miles a day in a pretty smooth highway) and all the monitoring to make sure engine is not overheat, I cant wait for the repair until I see a milky oil before i repair it.

I drove a ‘69 De Ville in about 1984. For 2 years. $900 to buy sold for $1200. Cheap to maintain in those days. Except the gas. Crazy acceleration to 40 mph. Horrible cornering and roadholding. But fantastic fun car. Willie Nelson on stereo singing “On the road again” as we dropped the electric power top on the way to the beach!

I own a 2006 Toyota Camry with 4cylinder, when I start the car a puff of white smoke comes out and will continue a little with more faint transparent white smoke for a little longer, (it’s still 78°) and when the car is in 4th gear accelerating around 50-60 it will vibrate and it’s only in 4th gear. My mechanic suggested “flushing the engine and transmission fluid” do you think this is a good idea? The car has 104k miles and I just replaced the valve cover gasket and motor mounts so far.

1. Never flush your transmission fluid, only CHANGE it. Any mechanic that suggests a transmission fluid flush, is a guy you should walk away from. 2. The vibrating at 50-60mph is likely either an old tire or it needs an alignment. 3. As for the white smoke, if you have the 2.4L 4cyl engine, keep checking the engine oil level on the dipstick, to make sure you're not low on oil.

Also Toyota automatic transmissions typically don't like the cold (which is fine), so that's why putting it in reverse at the beginning of the day can be a lil shakey. Once the car is out on the road and driving, everything warms up pretty quickly. I always turn my ac off before I turn the car off, that way it's not on when I start. I back out of my driveway, get on the road, and then turn on the AC. Sometimes I even turn off the AC at a stoplight to reduce strain on the engine. Again, once the car is driving on the road: the engine has a better time handling the strain of the AC I apologize for not exactly having a solution, but I've driven my Camry for years this way with no issues. Sometimes you just have to live with things on older cars
