Paying $81,000 for a new F-150 is just absurd. Maybe that's why so many of them are just sitting on the lots. Now Ford is going with the cylinder deactivation on the V-8s so I think I'll pass on that. I think I'll just get one that's older and not run down or rusted out.

Its *NOT* the AutoManufacturers per se who are raising the prices ..... all you have to do is simply look at the price of precious (monetary) metals (esp. gold) at nearly 2X (DOUBLE) the price since 2014 in comparison to 'today'. ~$1170 / troy ounce compared with $2250 just two days ago. What this means in simple terms is that the purchasing power of every dollar you hold or spend has been value-DILUTED by FIFTY PERCENT. The REAL problem is the US currency/dollar is *rapidly FAILING*... all due to profligate (totally out of control) government spending !!!!!! The prediction by 'those in the know' ... "its going to get MUCH MUCH WORSE". Tighten up your seat belts and your wallets, folks.

Hate to break this to you but turbos (and your truck has two of them) will go out in your near future. Even the manufacturers will tell you they will need replacing within 150-200k miles. They last longer than they used to, esp. if you use full synthetic oil and change it regularly, but they do go out at some point. Not knocking the engine, I have a Taurus SHO with the 3.5 ecoboost, but I plan on selling it when it hits over 100k miles as I don't want to shell out thousands to replace the turbos in it.

@@hestongraves3274 I hear you. But I'm not a mechanic, so it would cost me thousands to repair them (and have it done right). you also face the possibility, if the turbo gets damaged having shrapnel from it get sucked into your engine, then you are really screwed. Turbos aren't as simple as replacing a starter on a car. My next car, I will stick with a simple V6 or pushrod V8. But to each their own.

Also will mention that this truck starts, runs, and drives like a new truck, so I'm very happy with it so far. Got it 6 months ago and love it. As an 18 year old basically raised by fords vehicles, I’m irritated with ford and the recent reliability issues. 2016 escape se it was a great car low miles traded it, 2017 escape se low miles kept it til 88k great car, kept maintenance an was totaled…2022 Ford Edge Sel (current) we keep it regularly maintained and took it from Michigan to Mississippi no mechanical issues but connectivity issues…when I was 16-17 I dogged that 2.0 4cyl turbocharger from 0miles to 34k and at 33k aka December 23 the screen went out, took to dealer they replaced screen and battery cause you guessed it the car fried it😁 we love the car it’s amazingly comfy and stylish and performs but today driving the screen and connectivity kept bugging out and what really hurts is that my mom just bought me my dream 2012 Lincoln MKS fully loaded base model at 121.5k miles and I love it everything works and dealer inspection last week said nothing’s wrong with it at 126.6k miles which other than the 3.7 water pump and transmission cause I like to drag occasionally I have no worries other than the sunroof. My brother dogs his 2010 mercury mariner and it keeps a ticking and I love that car, air blows decent, engine and transmission are just fine AT 200k MILES!!! Cd player doesn’t work what do you expect aux works great, everything mechanically and head/fog light display is just gorgeous for a 2010 base model 4cyl fwd I do love ford cars (while they work)

Hey Scotty...can you check in to the fuse 27 mess in Ford F150s 2009 through 2013...got me stranded...dealership never sent out service bulletin ...they even have a fuse relocation kit...thousands of people have been stranded ..because of a fuse too small for the fuel pump.

I had a problem with the fuse as well. While stopped at a QT station getting fuel, it wouldn’t restart. The guy next to me just happened to be a Ford mechanic told me to pop the hood pulled out the fuse and it was burned. Went inside. Got the fuse put it in and the truck cranked right it up.

My 2017 F150 has 168789 miles on it exactly. It’s a 5.0 , I’ve never done anything but change the oil at 3000 mile intervals and the transmission fluid every 25000 . It’s a one heck of a truck ! Proper maintenance on any vehicle is the key to longevity. You in my opinion should never go over 5000 miles before you change your oil . If you follow the manufacturers 10000 (most manufacturers now ) mile guide lines your setting yourself up for problems in the future. Just my personal opinion and experience.

Old trucks are well made. V8’s better than most I always wondered what a straight 6 turbo diesel powered ford truck would be like. I have a 7.3 1999 which is a nice truck. Tractor trailer semi trucks have a straight 6 of course it’s bigger than a little pickup truck engine. But I have to wonder why Ford didn’t pursue a straight 6 diesel rather than the V8. Now some Mazda cars are using a small straight 6. Might be interesting to setup an F150 with a transverse straight 6 diesel and front wheel drive transmission you could even tilt the engine like the old slant 6 that Chrysler had in the 60’s to lower the hood line. Might be interesting to see a torque monster 6 diesel with two turbochargers and front wheel drive.
