In today's video, we are in southern Ohio with The Hunting Beast himself, Dan Infalt. Last October, Dan called and wanted to hunt southern Ohio and who's going to pass up on a chance to learn from the man himself. Get ready to take notes on this one as dan breaks down exactly how he targets and hunts mature bucks in hill country!

I love Dan’s content. I love how u show how real hunting is on public land. Even the super experienced hunters have way more hunts with no kills or sightings then success. It makes regular guys like me that want to become better have more confidence when I’m feeling like a bad hunter. Nice video

I love it! This is what hunting is all about and it's not always walking in the woods, getting on to the sign, and shooting a mature buck. That's not real life.

Never too old to learn. It's the small things we learn in past seasons that end up making us the hunters we are today. Like you said " Keep evolving as a whitetail Hunter."

I've been a NW Ohio flatlander all of my life and recently started hunting Southern Ohio. It's amazing how different it is down there. Everything is different: terrain, public land everywhere, the way hunters hunt. I'm still spinning my wheels trying to figure out our 800 acre property and the public next to it. I'm learning that I need 50 cameras and 5 days off of work a week to scout if I want to be successful haha.

Same live by cedar point went down to southern Ohio last year public for the first Time first day scouted from 8 in the am til around 2 went to the place we were staying til shower went to the best spot I found killed a decent 130 inch 11 point that afternoon. Three of us went down for 4 days that was the only deer we got passed a few small bucks and yearlings but it’s not easy ground to figure out in a couple of days need a good week

Great video, no disrespect but I don't advise touching rubs with bare hands. In-season scouting is a great approach but it's best if you can pay attention to scent control and leave minimal trace. Mature bucks especially won't tolerate human scent on signpost rubs.

Good video but it's amazing how touchy feely you guys are in the woods. Nothing like leaving human scent from your hands on every rub in the woods

99.9% Sure that Dan and yourself were parked across from where my buddy and I were hunting. We walked out after the morning hunting and seen the white truck. It also looks identical to last year's video where Dan was overlooking a huge bottom. There was multiple trail cameras where we walked in. My buddy and I both harvested bucks a few ridge systems over.

This spot I'm talking about is north side of the property, a little east of the county line.I also know where y'all were towards the end of the video. I commented on Dan's video last season and told him that I'm surprised about the spot. The two of you were surrounded by hiking trails. Honestly, that would be a spot I would overlook. We're coming back up November 4th - November 12th this year. I'm starting to feel like we're coming up a week to late. Last week of October last season felt right. I believe Halloween through November 5th I'd going to be prime

How do y’all deal with thermals in those hubs? Wouldn’t scent be pulled up the ridges they were potentially bedded on?

I don’t understand scouting without being ready to hunt right then? Why do all that walking just to walk back out and then back in again if you find a spot?
@stevendrake477
@stevendrake477 Жыл бұрын
That and there's always a chance you walk up to a monster. Sure 9/10 times they will be long gone. But that 1 time they may be there. I think you burn areas too speed scouting. Obviously if you go back 2 miles it's not practical to still hunt. But you'd be surprised the amount of deer you bump that you never knew about stomping around the woods.

@@aw4088 do you know what I mean....lol... My property and home backs up in the Wayne national Forest..... I love it when out of staters think that they're going to come park by my house.... And try to hunt a deer that I've been scouting all year..... 😂.... I had one of these professional KZbin hunters from North Carolina 2 years ago lay down the law to me....and told me he can hunt anywhere he wants around my place..... 😂.....ok buddy.... Long story short..... without too much incrimination.....but they went and found them another place to hunt...... It's like where I live it's a jinx for out of staters vehicles..... They always seem to have problems with them for some reason.....😂😂... But you know what they earned it... . Walking through my property putting up their cameras and tree stands on my place..... Leaving trash.... Like they can't read a onyx map... My barn is full of their deer stands and trail cameras from over the years..... They're disrespectful as f*** 90% of them..... My opinion and feelings now come from years of dealing with their b*******...... So I'll just quit beating around the bush and put it plain and simple..... As far as my 602 acres you're not welcome don't come around it...

We deal with it here at our family farm in upstate New York. Now relocating to ohio for work. Being 45yrs old I have to start hunting state land next year until I find a new home to buy. New York will suck the life out of you. Hahaha.

@@cincinnatigrinder4951: I used to live next to the Wayne as well but now call Cincy home. Some good hunting but a lot of idiots running around too. With the way technology is, there really are no secret spots anymore. I hunt other states too so I know what its like to be an out of stater hunting elsewhere. But thats still no excuse for not having any Sportsman’s ethics or simple respect for land and land owners; be it public or private. I sometimes ask landowners for permission just to cross over their property to get onto public land than some of them have been pretty nasty. Just a simple no is all thats needed but when you deal with idiots all the time it causes land owners to wear thin. I know people spend a lot of money to hunt out of state but the last time I hunted there, I ran into people from 8 different states in one morning. I wish hunters success but there just seems to be something wrong when an in state hunter is out numbered by out of state hunters, and it gets worse every year. Its even hard just to find a place to park these days, especially during the rut. Just my 2 cents.
