SCP-096 is a humanoid creature measuring approximately 2.38 meters in height. When someone views SCP-096's face, whether it be directly, via video recording, or even a photograph, it will enter a stage of considerable emotional distress. SCP096 will cover its face with its hands and begin screaming, crying, and babbling incoherently. Approximately one (1) to two (2) minutes after the first viewing, SCP-096 will begin running to the person who viewed its face (who will from this point on be referred to as SCP-096-1).

The Shy Guy escaping a blackhole kinda ruins the story for me. Stakes are an important part of any story, and a corporeal entity such as the shy guy escaping from something that even photons can't is ridiculous, even for the SCP foundation. Once the shy guy crossed the blackholes event horizon, he would need to travel faster than the speed of light to escape it. Also to the observers on the main ship, the rocket with the researchers and the shy guy would look like it just froze in space once passing the event horizon, getting redder and redder in appearence until it eventually dissapeared altogether; they wouldn't be able to see them all get spaghettified. Also even if the shy guy somehow made it out of the blackhole, he'd need to propel himself fast enough to cover a distance of 1,560 light years (the years it would take actual weightless photons to traverse the area), but since the shy guy can seemingly travel faster than the speed of light, he would go back in time, so he would come to earth in the past where no one saw him yet? The story would have been better if the shy guy survived the interior of the black hole, went into the singularity and perhaps caused havoc from a higher dimension as a whole new entity... But that's just my take on the story anyways.

@@Groggert It's cherenkov* radiation, and that requires a medium that isn't spacetime. A sonic boom in space is forgivable since that's just for effect. It could also be a strong gravitational wave considering the bending of spacetime. However that wasn't explained (further proving why this story has bad writing). Mass cannot, CANNOT surpass or even go at the speed of light in the physical sense without changing the hyperbolic geometry of spacetime (in which still technically isn't achieving speed of light or ftl). There's several reasons why: *Why can't you reach the speed of light?* As you approach the speed of light, the amount of energy you need to reach those relativistic speeds requires more and more energy nonlinearly. You are changing your own velocity and time curve, in which time and space collapse into a linear relationship. In other words, as you approach the speed of light, the energy to get there approaches infinity. *Why is the speed of light the limit?* There are several observable and mathematically provable reasons why, but the one that's simplest to understand is because of planck time and planck length. These are like the frame rate and pixels of the universe, which is so incomprehensibly small we can only approximate it's size. To give you a sense of scale: The Planck length is about 1.616255 x 10-35 meters, while the largest quarks are about an attometer in diameter, or a billionth of a billionth of a meter. This means that the ratio of the Planck length to a quark's size is 6.1871425 x 10+15:1. That's how small it is. Now, planck time is also very small, and is the minimum "frame rate" of the universe. Planck length is also the smallest length in the universe. You cannot go from 0.5 planck length to 1 planck length. You can only go from 1 planck length to 2 planck length. The speed of light is literally planck length/planck time. The fastest physically possible speed there could be. This is why FTL concepts require the warping of the geometry of spacetime. Because you have to change space & time. *Why couldn't shy guy just warp spacetime to get out?* This is because blackholes are just that powerful. The event horizon is the point where space is flowing inwards (like a funnel) faster than the speed of light, and is the reason why not even light can escape. At the event horizon, time and space are switched, and all possible time and futures points inward at the black hole. To warp the geometry of a black hole FROM inside the event horizon requires an infinite amount of energy as well. There is no escaping a black hole under any logical circumstances. To cover it up as "reality warping" is just bad writing.

There are lots of things wrong in this video. 1. If 096 and all the personnel went into the blackhole, time would be stretched out (To iterate I believe that 1 minute inside a black hole would be 1->Infinite years, depending on how close you are to the singularity.) so far that the "Victims" of seeing 096's face would have already died out and it would contradict the rule that 096 kills anyone who sees its face. If there is no one left to kill it contradicts 096's rage, and because it doesnt seem to know time is passing, it stays in rage. 2a. 096 going faster than the speed of light would require infinite energy and mass for it to actually reach those speeds. 096 does not have that energy. Since Gaia BH1 is 1,500 light years away, it would take way longer for 096 to arrive and even then the victims would die out. 2b. Traveling faster than the speed of light would also cause you to travel extremely far back in time, so it could really overstep on the exact moment in time 096 is going for. Correct me if im wrong on any of this, its just knowledge of what I know now.
