If you're confused on why Jack Bright's desire from that photo is that he is the SCP-963, mainly that the necklace he wears is him as a vessel which made him immortal, but the sad part for him is that he never wanted this unintentional gift/curse of immortality in the first place since he was only researcher of the foundation that can outlast them through generations until the foundation itself collapses.

to explain the effect with 053. Her anomalous property is that anyone who is near her for an extended period of time or touches her will become violent against anyone else until only they and her are left, where they'll go to harm her, but die of a heart attack. The foundation put 682 in her room in a termination attempt of the lizard. 682 acted calm and patient with her, likely recognizing her ability and adjusting for it, making himself immune to the violent tendencies. In response she was likely the happiest she's ever been her whole life since her anomaly started shortly after birth. To her, 682 is like a giant patient puppy. and for 963, aka Dr Jack Bright. His soul is attached to that medallion, whenever his body dies, the medallion can be placed on another person, and Jack Bright essentially takes over their body. He's cursed with immortality and wants free of it. Clef is wildly believed to be the father of 166, who's mother was a nature god, and her powers cause all things around her to deteriorate into a natural state. The more processed or artificial the item the faster the process. She mainly wears cotton and wool clothes as a result, as her power affects her own clothes too. As for what 999 would desire? Standing triumphant, having saved the world from his dad the Scarlet King.

The "Young Girl" is a personfication of Death, one of the four horseman; but she is to young to act on it. However the "hard to kill lizard" is her steed; hence the picture .

You have made it back to the SCP. I'm so happy! The Desire Camera has always definitely intrigued me. You guys had a lot of good questions and ideas. A thought I've had for another reason the Camera can't be allowed to be used by anybody is this: besides the potential of blackmail and other nefarious purposes it could be used for, I also see it as being the same potential kind of trap as the Mirror of Erised from Harry Potter. I could see someone letting themselves waste away just taking constant selfies, living precariously through the wish fulfillment that the Camera shows, as opposed to getting out and making their desires reality. At any rate, can't wait for more SCP content. Cheers!

That is a great thought! Had never even thought of to turn the camera on yourself and take pictures but that is definitely true that someone could waste away taking selifes every day. Wonder if the camera would show what you truly desire or what you think you desire? 🤔😀 Love the conversation these videos spark

Personally I believe it should be what you truly desire, being a mechanical object in the end, but what one thinks they desire/personal desires seem to be what it shows, the researcher that just wanted to be wearing a different tie, or prisoners wanting to be free and/or wanting to see their captors dead before them. It may show a little of both, the camera seems to have a certain amount of intelligence and a certain sense of whimsy in what it shows. Maybe it would work differently than normal if the holder and subject are the same (aka, a selfie!😁), but who knows.

I missed some of these early ones, a lot of them are much more simple ideas and self contained stories. Some more in this similar vein are SCP 294 - The Coffee Machine, SCP 507 - Reluctant Dimension Hopper, and SCP 140 - An Incomplete Chronicle. 140 really opens the door to a whole world of the anomolous, as it covers ancient history and a lost culture which is pretty cool if you're a history buff.

I've reached that level of self actualization on the Mazlow pyramid. Like other than being severely physically handicapped, I work from home being grossly overpaid for an incredibly tiny amount of work so I'm actually able to just sit at home, play games, and masturbate all day. I'm living every teenagers dream. Because of that though I do get bored a lot. Like I don't like many things other than playing games. I don't like TV or movies or going out anything like that. Me and my BF are nerds. Lights out, Xbox on, sun bad. So when you can literally do what you want when you want. Everything tends to just blend together.
