Thank you for that awesome tip on sewing those very narrow strips we need at certain times. I get a lot of sewing education from your channel, Maureen!

I really like the 60-degree braid! I have always made the "regular" ones, which are easy but there is more waste. I'll try this one for sure!

Wow, do I ever have a LOT of 2-1/2" strips! Another great demo from you, Maureen. I like the 60 degree braid because there's less waste and the entire step of trimming the sides is eliminated. As another commenter mentioned, Megan of Tiny Orchard Quilts also did a nice variation on this with her Herringbone Zipper Quilt, which is very nice, but this 60 degree you've shown today is less complicated.

Thank you for the useful tips about cutting the braids with the 60 degree ruler , thus eliminating all the trimming at the end. I'd not thought of using the 120 degree angle to cut the start triangle which will a suitable fabric then becomes part of the design. So many useful tips.

Oh my goodness! I don’t feel nearly as bad as I did yesterday after seeing your stash of 2 1/2 inch strips. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It's so frustrating when Jack gets happy and pokes a hole in your fabric. Thanks for the tips for salvaging the fabric and the narrow loops. I love braid quilts. I made one for my bed several years ago. I think I have some baby fabric that I can put to use!

Clever, clever on the seam line adjustment to cover the hole! I have fudged to make blocks even when didn't have quite enough fabric for the piece needed, but never thought about this!!! Also good idea on the narrow work!

Thay's a great idea and instead of just saving the leftovers you can cut them up as you generate them so they are ready for when you want to make another scrap quilt. I shall be copying this idea for sure. Thank you

I have made both braid quilts. I agree that the waste from the 2.5 strips is not important when using up fabric stash. But limited coordinating fabric for the 60 degree strips is the best option. Makes a quick and easy baby quilt. Another great instructional video.

Thanks for the tip about salvaging your fabric when you’ve punched a hole in it. I had that happen just the other day, but I had replacement fabric. I’m tucking this tip away for future use. (I KNOW it’s going to happen.)

I have a question. This is now the second design that you've featured here that are "out of stock". Isn't it possible to find a different pattern that wouldn't be out of stock or unavailable - or maybe better yet, a free pattern? Maybe just something you came up with? I'm just curious. There are a lot of braid patterns "out there" - it's not really a new idea. That being said, I do like your version that you showed with the pretty colors. I'm not trying to be controversial - just a suggestion - JMO. :) I guess I'm opinionated too. But I do LOVE your color choices in this one.

I wasn't sure if that particular pattern was or was not still available, but truly, you do not need a pattern. Cut your 2 1/2" strips to whatever is your desired length. The longer the strips, the wider the braid. Then start attaching them to a right triangle and make your braids as long as you like. And, it is absolutely fine to have your own opinion.
