The old penny for a fuse trick? Some of those older cases can be sold as empty shells but probably the older larger ones, that one may have too many missing pieces in the front for the DVD covers.

Alienware may not be what its cracked up to be, but it has no problem selling. Can't believe you scrapped that! Interesting video, but man that was savage lol.

The sacrifices I make for my audience. Seriously, that one was in really bad shape and would have required a lot of work.

Is there any particular reason why the colour of a board makes a difference to value. I've seen them in various colours ( never seen a transparent one ) and just assumed that it was the PC makers who fancied a different colour for the base board. Was once told green was a traditional colour as everything the military does is green and also it makes a good contrast solder

I don't know the history behind the colors. What I do know is that the green motherboards have a higher precious metal content. By "I know" what I really mean is that multiple board buyers I've talked to over the years have explained this to me. I've not done any extractions myself to compare.

Always wondered how much Alien Ware PCs were hype vs worth the price. Seems like some reasonably decent engineering...

Back then they were better before Dell owned them, but still overpriced for what you could build, now they are just dell XPS's shoved into fancy plastic outer shell, zero innovation, pay for the name.

Hey Shark! On the traffic control video series you said you got $23 or so a lb for the high grade telcom boards. I just looked on boardsort and its showing $6/lb today has that commodity taken a big hit over last 9 months? Thanks for your time!

No there's been no huge drop in the prices. I'd have to go back through those videos to see what I was referring to or if I misspoke somewhere. $23/lbs was the price for Gold Finger RAM at that time, so I might have been referring to the RAM. However, BOARDSORT did substantially upgrade many of the boards due to their high quality.

Interesting…at the end of that series (great series by the way!) on your pivot table you showed that price for high grade telecom boards. I got excited because I recently got a bunch of the same kind but when I went to board sort it’s shows way way less lol so I thought the market dropped out. I guess I can email Chris also.
