@@RLA1983 charlie I noticed you scrap a ton of water heaters you remove all of the brass relief valves and drain cocks but are you removeing the square aluminum control valve? There is a brass insert connected to the aluminum valve at least a half pound or more of brass and a pound of dirty aluminum it only takes a minute or two to remove them also on the electric water heaters there is usually two small coils or inserts top and bottom they are copper also and can be removed easily with only four screws or bolts about a half a pound of copper in each one! Just a little tip from a old scraper!
@1320LUV2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the info! I had no idea so many viewers had knowledge about these boilers
@redneckbryon2 жыл бұрын
That second coil is for domestic hot water. If it was an oil fired boiler, smart people when you’re not heating the house wouldn’t want to be burning oil year around for just hot water, so you would have that section blocked off and have a standalone electric heater for hot water.

Those copper coils in boilers are called domestic oils. Some boilers have em others don't. Domestic coils are how people heated up there hot water if the don't have a water heater. When you scrap em you'll get number 2 copper from them.
