Hi Tin Man! Long-time subscriber. Love your videos. One question: How did you know that was zinc cast, and not just regular cast aluminium? Keep up the amazing work! x
@TinManScrapper7 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and the sub. Zinc cast looks like a rainbow effect on the inside (like a drop of oil in a puddle). Although I will say if in doubt just put the item in a separate bin and bring in for the scrapyard people to look at and categorize

Do you remove the strings and the plastic before taking it to the scrap yard
@TinManScrapper7 ай бұрын
No since I get downgraded from #1 anyway because of the thickness or glue etc.

I just cleaned up about 50 of them there not heard to do my yard is 3.80 dollars lbs and # 1 is 4.00 dollars lbs and bear Bright is 4.20 and the trash motors I just scrap as motors but copper motors I save 100%

Not complaining but, what happens to the ac in a car when it's crashed? The freon leaks out into the environment. When a window ac unit falls out of the window......it leaks. When the garbage man crushes the fridge out at the curb, yep, leaks out. Not advocating venting into the air, just sayin is all......
@TinManScrapper7 ай бұрын
I know, kind of weird that we cannot cut the hoses but the garbage man will throw them in the truck.m
@mackhughson37225 ай бұрын
Why woul that be type 2 copper? Isnt it barebright or type 1?
@TinManScrapper5 ай бұрын
Unfortunately here because it has a coating and or thinner than 16 gauge all motor wire classified as #2

Air mattress motors. Just cut the motor housing from the bag

Thanks for the tip. I bet they are a good source of copper. Have not actually found one yet.
