Interesting video. Like the comic relief. I hear gold, silver, etc. Don’t leave out alum, copper, and brass…they can keep the lights on while you mine for the precious.

Yes you are right. I always collect zinc, aluminum, brass and copper. I just don't show it in the videos 😉

👍 Scanner printers have more. But you need to open up the scanner bar and use a small screw driver to pop one end of the narrow board out. There is a long bar on this board, and pads all along it with gold bonding wire. They sometimes have one or two open ic's with gold bonding wire around them. It looks like you cut off just the open ic

Many printers and scanners, and they are designed differently. Some have more circuit boards, some have less. Some are easy to take apart, but some are impossible without a sledgehammer 😁 I got everything that was in this printer 😉

Yes, diodes contain gold too. The crystal is attached to the wire with gold. But there is incredibly small amount of gold. I don’t know for sure, but as I understand it, tin is mixed with gold and the crystal is soldered to the wire with this gold. Glass diodes contain more gold 🙂

I use wire cutters, pliers, a chisel and a hammer. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's difficult 😉 Happy New Year to you too 🖐
