Hello fellow scrapper and melter. I have been watching your channel for a while under my real name and can’t believe I have not subscribed to you under my channel. I am behind on watching videos. Been busy with family, work, and my own channel. Great tear down and melt. Gotta love a nice chunky copper bar. I was laughing to myself when you went to stamp the first pour on the block. I was going, this is going to break lol Great video and awesome melt. Hope you hit 1000 soon. Good luck 👍

It’s not about the money, if it was there wouldn’t be a stack of ingots on the table or a YT channel. Also, one of the motors was toast so I highly doubt it would be worth anything more than scrap. Thanks for the concern and thanks for watching.

Just found your channel, love your video style and approach. I def wanna see where you'll get to in time. Might I strongly recommend Borax fluxing your copper melts? You're losing a hell of a lot of material to oxidation and slag in your melts/pours right now, and borax is cheap as dirt. It's a physical process not just a chemical one so make sure you use enough borax to cover the top of the molten pool, for your size crucible maybe 1/4 to 1/2 cup. Add it in while the metal is warming up but before it becomes molten as borax contains a lot of water that has to be expelled first before it works as a flux. You'll get so much cleaner pours and recover so much more copper without wasting gas on remelts and repours.
@Scrap2Cast2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I do use Borax, I don’t show it in every video. Appreciate the concern 😁

I watched a video that when the guy quenched his ingot it was in a mixture of water, vinegar and salt. The ingot came out like it was polished. I plan to break down some motors and plan to use the mixture because of those nasty blackheads the burnt lacquer leaves.
