My scratch died in Honor mode... I summoned the Deva in my camp, it rolled initiative first and went straight for Scratch and smitted him... then my entire camp went into some frenzy and wailed on the Deva. Pretty epic.

I accidentally killed Scratch once. I opened the Spectator bottle in camp, not knowing what it was, and it killed Scratch. I decided to live with the consequences of my actions. It was the biggest regret of the playthrough and a solemn reminder not to mess with evil looking items in camp.

honstly i only reserve it for glitches but you can force crash the game via task manager on honor mode and doing so will allow you to go back to your last save.... if anything hapened to scratch i woud give an exeption to the glitch rule....

He can't die in the vast majority of cases. But an example of when he can die is if you open the iron flask in camp. I've heard he can also die if you break into the basement of the Stormshore Tabernacle, but I haven't seen any footage of that so I don't know for sure.

the only cases where scratch can die are when it’s the real scratch and not summon scratch, the majority of the time that means only in camp, I think the only exceptions are when you first meet him outside of camp in act 1 at the blighted village, and in act 3 at the dog kennel where you can give him to the abusive kennel owner who originally owned him

Except...one time I stole some holy relics from the temple in Lower City, and...when I removed the curse, and angel came to kill me....and, scratch ran over to help....right through a non-controled Jaheira's moonbeam. I laughed like "oh, scratch. I'll bring you back tomorrow." But there was no scratch. Reload, throw ball. Ah (exhales), there he is. Removed the curse in the sewers where Arabella was studying a rock and murdering bandits to be safe. Don't worry, she was gone already.
