Dude, your human figures are SO good - and I totally agree the aesthetic choice of having an understated pose is the right one, and not that easy to achieve (especially standing still and having the weight of the body look properly distributed). I wish I could get it looking this good at this kind of scale - plus, it's a completely different skill to hard edge mechs and stuff too, so extra props to you! Have you considered using tiny miniature files to make sanding the harder to reach areas a little easier?
@CutTransformGlue4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Jack! Hard edge mechs are way more forgiving than organic shaped things for sure.. I should look for those miniature files, thanks a lot for the tip

I like how every project on this channel seems to belong to the same universe - and this universe should have a name, perhaps some lore... what about? Anyway, i have some questions (as always): can you tell us your nickname? Its kinda weird refer to you as ctg; and: have you ever thought of creating and action figure? I think you could, seeing your level of crafting skills. Hope to see the painting of this project soon - i know it would be just as awesome as the build.
@CutTransformGlue4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've been thinking about a lore for these mechs... For me they are really all from the same universe, like different units from an army or something like that. I'll give that some thought. My name is Henrique :). Thanks a lot buddy, stay safe!

I'm absolutely blown away - I can't wait for the painting! Btw your human figure is very impressive. I undertand how you might feel that its less than perfect but with your construction technique this figure IS perfect for this diorama. We are seduced by 'action' poses that exagerate the human form for effect, so your lifelike pose could seem a little 'plain' but its not! It works beautifully. Sculpting the human form at that scale is SO difficult, top marks for an outstanding effort.

Small tip for the figures : the German brand Preiser makes anatomic figures in several scale. The o e for you would be 1/22.5 or G scale. Also other brands offers faces for different scales... but the best for me would be to use the anatomic figures to assble from Preiser and add clothes from putty like Milliput or green stuff... hope it'll be helpful.

It's one thing to recreate a licensed property in a diorama, but it's a whole other ball game to come up with something like this from just your imagination and from scratch... It's absolute talent. Love your content. I've done a number of "period" pieces and a lot of custom work with modeling but have never been able to get beyond legos when it comes to designing my own. Cool stuff! Why don't you create an armature of wire as a skeleton, then slide the putty onto that armature before it sets? Maybe braze the pieces of the copper wire using a torch or a soldering iron. Would remove some of the tedious parts of the process?

@@CutTransformGlue Have you checked out edu puertas kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4XXY3uLh6qSkLc , he does stop motion but there are many similarities. Also, there are "clays" that stay soft for years, until you bake them in an oven. That might be easier to work with than the stuff you're using. Having said all that - the results you're currently getting are awesome, well done!

I have my "Big Fat Dumb American" blinders on again. Sorry. It would be cool to know where you are if sharing is OK. About Sculpey, Yes. Keep it thin and cook it for 15 minutes. It is made of Poly Vinyl Chloride. Yes, the pipe stuff. I wonder if there are other brands out there in the world that work the same? It works precisely like your current process. In fact, the bones can be done, baked and ready in 30 minutes. I re-cook previously done steps with no ill effects. Some of the stuff I just finished had to be carved to fit. Clean cuts, easy smoothing. It carves like slightly tough Balsa. I wonder if it could be LASER cut? Hmmmm...
