Also, Drew Barrymore was originally cast as Sidney but 1 month before shooting she got the idea to be the opening kill and Wes loved it, then they brought in Neve and history was made

Wes didn’t love it. He almost quit the job (a job he initially rejected two times). He and his team decided to work around it considering that, at least, she was still going to be in the film.

Before they cast Drew as Sidney, Kevin Williamson actually envisioned/wanted Molly Ringwald. They approached her, but she felt she was too old to play a teenager again.

The script shows just how great Wes Craven is as a director, enacting script changes where they work best; and also the cast at making changes on the fly. The script is so incredibly weak compared to the finished film. Im so grateful.

The scene where Tatum is talking about the guy from 8 Is Enough and his package in the parking lot of the supermarket, Sidney tells her…How can you talk like that about guys. Tatum says, they talk about our t*ts. Which relates to a scene later on when Stu says, when are we going to see JLC t*ts and then Tatum says, see, t*ts.

Scary movie was the original title but bob weinstein decided Scream was more marketable cus of the song out at the time. Thankfully Harvey didn’t really touch the franchise (minus yk), Wes actually almost quit cus Harvey was being an ass about one of the locations until bob came in and paid out of his pocket

Sometimes, the movie is in the script. I actually give more credit to Kevin Williamson for Scream than Wes Craven because the movie was all there in the script. Now, take “Urban Legend”…the script was very simple IMO. But the directors made it more than what it was on those pages
