Well lol, The opening stunt for Rogue Nation, the plane stunt was extraordinarily dangerous. Due to the high pressure speeds and little fragments in the air. Tom Cruise had to wear contacts to prevent little debris from entering his eyes. The most minute details

HALO is an acronym for High Altitude, Low Opening. Meaning, the jump is from a high altitude but the parachute is deployed when reaching the lowest safe altitude to open. The reason they don't open the parachute immediately is because the sky divers can pass out from lack of oxygen so they have to get to the lower oxygen rich altitude as fast as possible.

Tom Cruise should have a mountain of Oscars, he's one of the few actors that are literally willing to risk life and limb for the sake of entertainment. I remember he said he broke his left ankle filming a stunt scene for Mission Impossible Fallout and doctors said it would be a 6-month recovery and Tom Cruise was back filming in 6 weeks. The dedication.

Mission Impossible is probably the greatest movie series of all time specifically because it keeps reinventing itself and outdoing itself - and Tom Cruise is 90% of that drive. I absolutely adore these movies and love showing them to anyone who hasn't seen them. His stupidly dangerous dedication to doing as much for real, in-camera stunt work as possible is so awesome in this age of effects-driven movies and it comes through best in the Mission franchise. I'm gonna miss it when Dead Reckoning Part 2 says farewell to Ethan Hunt.

I'm guessing it was just a misreading of the script, but it did make me smile when he said they were falling at 2000 MPH. I honestly believe it’s a travesty that Cruise doesn’t have an Oscar given everything he’s done to save the movie industry. I know the Oscar voters are movie snobs and usually vote for some obscure movie that nobody even goes to see. But his commitment to these stunts as his character is the highest form of acting in my opinion. Be nice if the Academy would recognize and award movies that people actually watch.

How about the fact that by Part 4, the studio was actually trying to phase Cruise OUT of the franchise by replacing him with the inclusion of Jeremy Renner because of the perceived declining profits starting in Part 3. Obviously, Cruise led Part 4 to the highest grosses yet for the M:I franchise and some of the series’ best reviews. If you notice in Part 5, it is actually Renner who gets phased out….

Extraction 2 didnt do a 20 minute, single take scene. They made it look like there weren't cuts, but there were a lot of different moments when the camera's view is entirely obscured by a person's body, or a concrete pillar, for a few frames. And those moments are when the camera cuts to allow the next minute long sequence to then be filmed and spliced into the sequence.

If HALO stood for "High Altitude Military Parachuting", the acronym would be HAMP. HALO = High Altitude Low Open. I suggest next time you read the entire Wikipedia article. If he jumped from 25,000 feet and he was travelling at 2000 mph, he'd hit the ground in about 8.5 seconds, at a speed of Mach 2.6. If you're going to use the numbers, at least calculate them correctly. Terminal velocity of a human in freefall tops out around 120 mph, and I don't see him catching fire at any point, so you're just... wrong.

MI2 Hunt became one of the best agent of IMF that is why he act so cool and carefree. MI3 because of his cool attitude on MI2 led to the death of an agent and the involvement of Julia on the mission, because of that the next trilogy he became a Heroic Man sacrificing his happiness just to keep the world safe from harm. Every one hate MI2 but in the year it was released that film is the only great action film in cinema.
