i think the post credits of 3 are gonna reveal metal sonic and amy, i just have a hunch this’ll happen, and if this doesn’t happen, it has to be silver. going the metal and amy route though, i think the story should adapt a combination of sonic cd and sonic heroes; metal sonic starts out as the underling of eggman, but then throughout the movie, he’ll become more powerful, and the final act has team sonic with the help of amy and shadow (he’ll probably be “dead” at the end of sonic 3, but then revealed to have survived) will have to fight the metal overlord, metal sonic’s final form in sonic heroes

I was so hyped I did the 2 movies and the spin off Knuckles Show Season 1 all before the release of the 3rd movie. Took a week to finish all 3 before the main course! of course. One correction: The Chaos Emeralds do not power the cast's natural abilities, speed, fluight and power are natural to Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

Usually, this is the case, but I’m curious if the movies are trying to imply that the energy the characters give off is chaos energy. Considering that Eggman can power his machines with Sonic’s quills, that doesn’t seem like a bad theory.

Yeah they do have that naturally, but the Chaos Energy do bolster it, so Sonic is naturally really fast but upon using his Chaos Energy, aka, the blue electricity he gets even faster. Same for Knuckles an his strength. Tails is so far the only one not confirmed to have this power.
