The opening scene picks up where Far from home left off, recreating the end credits scene almost exactly. But, they added a very specific detail in no way home. MJ is now wearing these shards of the balck dahlia necklace, that is so important in no way home. Even after she forgets Peter at the end, she is still wearing this necklace, showing that a p9ece of him will always be with her-and that is foreshadowed in this scene. Now this could be because of mephisto [bees] or it could be that we're actually seeing a variant of MJ, where everything else in this universe was exactly the same as the MCu, except for the necklace…or she just had the necklace tucked into her shirt.
And of course, this happens [what the fuck cut off] and all three home spider-man movies cut off the f-bomb [clips]. Immediately people in the crowd ask [text on screen are you spider-man’s girlfriend]. This action sets Peter's entire story into motion, as everything he does in the movie is to protect her from his kind of harassment. But also, asking her this question foreshadows the ending, when she no longer remembers that she’s spider-man's girlfriend.
While he’s web slinging, we can see banners for fortnite, and also the playstation-because sony mad ethos movie and they always plug their gear
It’s interesting that Peter is surrounded by people who are trying to remember the heroes, and he just wants them to forget. IN fact, he ends the movie by causing them to forget a hero-himself. Which also coincides with the destruction of a symbol of their remembrance-the fall of captain america’s shield.
Also, notice this billboard that says “electrify your journey.” This is foreshadowing the arrival of electro-and it’s even in times square, where electro first appeared in Amazing spider-man 2.
He ends up taking MJ to the top of the queensboro bridge, which we pointed out was the setting for the climax of spider-man. Like the electro billboard, this is foreshadowing the return of a spider-franchise. Now the roosevelt island tram is also visible, just like in spider-man.
But think about how these two situations are opposite. The scene with the cable car showed new yorkers coming together to help spider-man. But in this scene, it shows new yorkers helping to tear him apart. In spider-man 2, people make a point to protect his identity. While in this movie, in the age of social media. People can;t wait to expose him and invest themselves in this narrative.
Again-this opening scene is like showing social media brought to life.
Back in his apartment, Peter puts on his i survived my trip to ny shirt from spider-man homecoming. But this isn;t just an easter egg-in this moment, he’s glad that he has survived new yorkers trying to get a piece of him.
Now on Jonah’s wall there are a few details that you can only see in high resolution. ON the left there is a daily newspaper that is actually from after Peter's identity is revealed. [the one with the 3 of them]. How did this get up there? I assume that Jonah printed it off the internet, before it went to physical press.

I’d argue that Sandman knowing about Norman Osborn being Goblin and it being all over the news still fits. That version of Sandman clearly comes from a post-Spider-Man 3 part of his timeline as he initially appears as an ally to Peter. So perhaps after Harry Osborn’s death went public, Bernard came forward and spoke of what he knew about the Osborns and it ended up being all over the news. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That makes more sense. I’ll also add that it’s implied in the movie that once you cross a universe into another one there are slight physical changes that may or may not happen to a person who cross over. For Electro his body was back, for Lizard some minor changes, same for Doc Ock and Sandman. Even Green Goblin's suit looks slightly different from the Raimi Spider-Man. The only exceptions to this however seem to be Tobey and Andrew, but that's only because we see them come from an unknown point in time.

Actually the portal Wong steps through is not of the Hong Kong, sanctum it’s the New York sanctum. The metal suit Strange puts Kaecilius in is at the same exact spot where it is in New York. It’s also at the top of the stairs with window that has the New York sanctum symbol on it. So no it’s not Hong Kong, it’s New York.

Big part of Stephen's character in the comics is how his abilities always come with a price, like how he has to constantly eat tons of monster food to refuel up after using his powers. I think MCU is slowly showing us Strange learning that lesson, that every time he uses his powers, there is a cost.

People have been so surprised at what an arrogant, risk-taking Dr Strange we saw in this movie. But remember: Dr Strange, MD was arrogant, but never took on a case that was so risky that he might fail. By Thor: Ragnarok, the Master of the Mystic Arts was so confident that he kidnapped Thor and Loki and basically told them to get lost. In Infinity War and Endgame, he saved half the universe. Another parallel this movie had was at the start, when Peter & MJ are swinging, Peter lets go of MJ for a second & leaves her alone to balance by herself on a beam high up in the air, she says "dude!" to get Peters attention and then he says "oh, im sorry." before grabbing her again and getting her down. This was foreshadowing her fall off the Statue of Liberty.

That expression change on Tom's Peter's face when he was about to impale the Green Goblin (Norman Osborne) at the same time as Tobey's Peter was trying to stop him from killing Green Goblin came out of no where. Tom's Peter must have either read his facial expression or the look in Tobey's Peter's eyes to really put down the glider together and it was like they both had a connection there. Which wasn't acknowledged and so was that smile on Tobey's Peter's face which also wasn't acknowledged and or returned. Like they were each other's moral compass which made that 3 spider hug more meaningful. That facial expression with Tom's Peter's face came out of the left field when he was holding up that glider.

Another fun addition some people noticed is how they dealt with the soundtrack this time around. In lieu of the John Hughes-y teen movie hits of the 80s, they go with “I Zimbra” by talking heads for the intro scene. It’s a song that just uses made up, dada inspired lyrics. Its a song about rejecting convential meaning, and also is the intro to talking heads’ 1979 fear of music. Everythings all topsy turvy in this version of the mcu

You missed one. When they're taking pictures of different things in Peter's room, and they take a picture of the Edith glasses, the glasses are covered in dust. This means that Peter probably hasn't used them since Mysterio's death.

I noticed 2 more little details. 1. in Spider-man's spider sense sequence, while he's trying to figure out what was wrong you can faintly hear green goblin's laugh. 2. when the camera pans to Tobey Maguire as goblin says "can the Spider-man come out to play?" you can also faintly hear Tobey's spider sense noise.

There is an interesting detail in the movie I don't see many people talk about: When Tom begins the sentence "With great power...", Tobey finish in the way Uncle Ben told him, "comes great responsability". So, both forms of the line are present in the movie: "With great power, must also come great responsability" "With great power comes great responsability"
