How WANDA'S Twins Will Return as Young Avengers in the MCU | Dr Strange EXPLAINED

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reunited us with Billy and Tommy Maximoff, the superpowered twins we last saw in WandaVision. This time we got to see the boys in an alternate reality, living happy lives with their loving mom. But that got me thinking, why don’t we have a real Billy and Tommy in our MCU, when they clearly exist in every other universe? In the comics, Billy and Tommy grow up to be superheroes Wiccan and Speed, but since they no longer exist in Earth 616, did Marvel scrap those plans? Well, not necessarily. Here’s how I think the MCU will bring back the twins, leading to a Young Avengers team up.
Now first, we need to sort out what these kids actually are and where they came from. In the comic run Vision and the Scarlet Witch, twins Thomas and William, were supposedly born to Vision and Wanda Maximoff. And they were delivered by Doctor Stephen Strange.
But in actuality, the twins were born from an amalgamation of Wanda's hex powers and slivers of Mephisto’s essence. Wanda gave them life, but parts of Mephisto made up their soul. After a big fight, Mephisto reabsorbed them with the help of Master Pandemonium, removing them from reality. Agatha Harkness then had to put a spell on Wanda, making her forget that her children existed. [clip of someone forgetting something in a movie. super kiss?
House of M was another comic series which started by showing not just how that Wanda was powerful-but that she has a strong attachment to her children.
Wandavision drew inspiration from both House of M and Vision and the Scarlet Witch comics. Wanda sets up her own pocket reality after being in a fragile mental state, and creates her dream home with Vision in New Jersey. But instead of using Mephisto’s essence, Wanda seems to have just created the boys from her own chaos magic.
But they can only exist within the hex Wanda created. [clip] Now it’s interesting, in the comics, Wanda could only provide life for the boys, but they needed a piece of Mephisto to have a soul. But in WandaVision, they seem to have souls, without traces of Mephisto-OR DO THEY? The boys laugh, cry, feel fear - all things a person would need a soul to experience.
So this brings us back to the important question, WHAT are these kids?
Doug: Are they pieces of the darkhold or something?
Probably not. In wandavison, we see the Darkhold originally in Agatha’s lair. Remember, Agatha didn’t live in Westview and therefore didn’t exist in the hex to begin with. She was drawn to the sheer intensity of Wanda’s power. She brought the darkhold and kept it safe in her little moldy, viny witch lair. [I was drawn to magic; happening miles away]. Wanda didn’t even know what the Darkhold was [clip] Wanda only started experimenting with black magic after Agatha informed her about the DArkhold and Scarlet Witch entity.
So could the kids actually just be … Vision and Wanda’s biological children? I mean, we did see her become pregnant and give birth in the second and third episodes. Could they really just be half witch- half synthezoid? I mean, I’m no expert in magical being- synthetic person relationships, but I don’t think this is right either.
We have to think about why Billy and Tommy physically exist in all the other universes, except ours. We see Billy and Tommy throughout multiple universes with Wanda, insinuating that in almost every other life, Wanda got what she wanted - her two boys.
This is regardless if she was The Scarlet Witch or not. Judging by how 838 Captain Marvel said “We’re not worried about your little witch.” I’m going to presume that either the Scarlet Witch entity isn’t as big of a threat in the Earth 838 universe, or doesn’t exist at all.. Wanda just has the mind stone power that she was given by Hydra.
But in these other universes, there’s one important person missing. The Vision. The dad figure. In the MCU, Wanda’s creation of her perfect Westview was because of her grief-stricken loss of Vision.

You know, Twins basically in the same situation as Wanda at the end of the MoM: we saying that she's alive cause "No body-no death". And than let's not forget, that we never saw Billy and Tommy to dissappear! They were left in the room, while Wanda have farewell with Hex Vision, we don't know exactly what happened during this at the boys room! Maybe they transported away, ran, heck, maybe TVA came for them!? My guess we gonna heard/see them in second season of Loki or in Agatha series

The only issue is they show that the twins disappear when the town disappears so how would the Tva be able to take them away. I’m thinking they might do the they reincarnate so them being alive without the town makes sense.

My guess is that a later movie will see one or more universes merging with the main one. This'll bring stable versions of her boys into the main universe, but it'll also bring in other entities that don't exist in the main continuity (i.e. the X-Men).

That's what I think will happen too. In the post credit, Doctor Strange goes to stop an incursion. Maybe, when the multiverse broke. Incursions started to happen do often that the intire multiverse was collapsing in on itself, toward total annihilation. That of course leads to multiversal wars. In the mcu, it might be Kang that creates battle world, or just plain fusing every surviving reality in order to save the multiverse from auto destruction.

@@PotatoKernels The theory I like the most is the one on the video, about their souls coming back in new bodies, and I have two reasons for it: 1- It would (or could) be accurate to the comics (depends on how it's adapted). 2- I'm not a writer or director so I can't make a good theory in 30 seconds (nor does a writer?).

I think the reason they don’t exist in 616 is because Wiccan and Speed are mutants!!! I think mutants exist in all the other multiverses and that’s why they exist there. If I recall in one of the newer comics, there is a lesser known mutant who can create life or clones. His name is Egg. But it would be cool if Egg helped bring them to life. I don’t know why mutants don’t exist in 616 but I suspect Kang did something to the first Mutant hence Apocalypse when he ruled Egypt which prevented the spread of the species

Pretty sure they said a being can't stay in a different universe without causing an incursion in Dr. Strange 2. So they would first need to create a new illuminati with some device or spell to allow people to be in different universes. This was one thing they didn't mention about Wanda going to a different universe but was mentioned several times with the different Dr. Strange's.

I think currently the incursion is only caused by Sleepwalking, as the soul and the body of someone as strong as Dr. Strange were at 2 different universes at the same time being an anchor to draw these universe into each other, while Chavez's soul and body are always at the same place.

Yes, bring on the Children's War! Wanda will probably have amnesia as well, the next time we see her, though I'm less sure about the Dr. Doom connection. It's the perfect setup for the Young Avengers and for the start of Wanda's redemption arc!

I was thinking they would leave him out since they haven’t introduced him or the F4 yet “officially.” I guess it would depend on when they want to do an Young Avenger team up movie/show, when F4 actually comes out, and if they introduce Dr. Doom in the first F4 as well. I can’t see Marvel waiting too long, Wanda is a big money maker right now, and some of the Young Avengers won’t be “young” for much longer.

After the events of MoM. The Scarlet Witch prophecy gets fulfilled which was Chthon's plan the whole time. Chthon needed Wanda as a vessel to release him since he is weak and stuck in another dimension by the Witches of earth 616. So it's a race against time for Chthon to find Wanda and tries to kill her before she realizes who she really is. Wanda wakes up with amnesia in Doom's hometown. Doom is aware of Wanda's powers and tries to manipulate her for his own purpose. Doom gets c*ck blocked by Agnes who has redeemed herself with helping the twins whom showed up back in Westfield with amnesia. I don't know if anyone noticed but there was two figures in the Scarlet Witch Temple. Since her kids are made from chaos magic it would make sense after Wandavision that they went back to the Scarlet Witch Temple physically and spiritually. Meaning this whole time they were on Earth 616, later on to be released after the destruction. Once Agnes and the twins are united with Wanda she gets her memory back. A huge battle goes down with Agnes, the twins, and Wanda against Chthon. Doom slips away into the shadows once was caught trying to manipulate her. Wanda and her twins are united but the world still sees Scarlet Witch as a super threat. She disappears into another dimension. But later on has a redemption moment when she makes her sacrifice fighting Kang in Secret Wars saving the multiverse and her kids.

What are the chances, if any, that "It Was Agatha All Along" means more than just what it did in Wandavision. What if she intentionally helped create the boys (replacing Mephisto in this version) and revealed the Darkhold to her in order to unleash the true Scarlet Witch. Like maybe the prophesy NEEDED to be true to fight Kang or something else. She's clearly more powerful than anyone we've seen so far. Maybe she's someone's idea for the best chance to fight something else, but only if they get her to her full potential, breaking her heart and brain if necessary.

I have this thought since the plot hole video. Many people ask why Wanda didn't just seek a world where Billy and Tommy are Orphans? I think because even if there is a world like that, then she might not know it since her in that world had already dead. And you maybe asking "But Strange says that the other version of the person who uses Dream Walking doesn't need to be alive, then why didn't she just do it like how Strange do?" I don't necessarily think Wanda intended to kidnap the 838 twins specifically. The reason Wanda ended up there was in pursuit of America and Dr. Strange. Wanda may have wanted to look for an entirely different reality to inhabit once she had the powers to do so. Everyone seems to assume that version of Billy and Tommy were her end goal but I never thought so.

I was thinking about this last week actually. If my thought is right and the big bad of Doctor Strange 3 is Mephisto, then maybe a Strange/Cleo vs. Mordo/Mephisto final battle could end up releasing the 2 versions from WandaVission. I layed out a framework for a solo SW movie which would reintroduce the 2, but had no idea how they could do it, Now I do. I can explain my thought/idea for DS3 if anyone's interested as well.

Great take but I Simply think that Wanda with kids is Wanda from Wanda Vision who took Agatha's offer of showing Wanda how to keep her boys without the hex. If only Wanda would give Agatha her powers. In this universe Wanda had no powers, she never used them. Her boys didn't use their powers, because they had no powers. They were made regular once Wanda accepted Agatha's offer. Scarlet Witch killing Professor X was No more mutants, ie no Xmen in MCU, contract dispute with creators of mutants. Plus Where's Agatha? No Vision because Agatha erased Vision when she gave Wanda her kids in exchange for Wanda's Scarlet Witch powers. Which is why Illuminate wasn't even scared of Scarlet Witch

No! It was a travesty! Wanda's story ended in the last episode of WandaVision. They reached so hard in Multiverse of Madness to make it about her. As you mentioned in your other videos, she went through all the stages of her grief and she moved on at the end (the last episode). Wanda hearing the boys in her spirit form was a reach because they never existed! .Let us not forget that the REAL reason for her grief in the first and only place was the loss of Vision for her which to me doesn't even make sense since he's a robot and the loss of her brother at a young and inexperienced age. I'm like Wanda go get a real man if you really want to have a family. There are more than enough of them out there. What's the problem? They could've wrote this story around the ending events of the last Spiderman movie. It was a straight money grab. I'm super disappointed in this movie.

I've been saying since Loki introduced the Multiverse, that this is the future of Marvel. With everything under the Marvel banner now being canon, the Fox Fantastic Four movies, both the Ioan Gruffudd versions and the horrible F4ntastic Four movies, hell, even the old movie that got cancelled are canon. The X-Men films, the Netflix shows, the ABC shows, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films, the Amazing Spider-Man films, the old X Men TAS, The Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, Into The Spiderverse, etc. Literally *EVERYTHING* is now canon and a part of the *Marvel Cinematic Multiverse*. They are just another universe that is attached to the larger overall Marvel Universe. Hell, if Marvel wants to go absolutely crazy, even the comics are a part of the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse! Can you imagine? This is what I wanted for Multiverse of Madness, I wanted Dr Strange to travel to a comic book styled universe where he had to travel panel to panel. But this is how Marvel can bring everyone they want to into the MCU and then take out everything else. With No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness and Loki essentially breaking the barriers to the Multiverse, everything will essentially crossover with each other. Does that sound familiar? *incursions*. With the entire Multiverse trying to fracture and crash into each other, Marvel, going into Secret Wars, can connect these overlapping and fracturing universes and merge them into one stable universe. Hence, Battleworld. Then the heroes will cause an uprising and bring about the expansion of the Multiverse once again, but now the restabilized MCU will contain all of the heroes and villains that were not there prior to these events. It would essentially be Marvel cracking open the entire picture and then adding in whomever they want and do it in a way that makes sense. The X-Men are not in our Universe that we've watched for over a decade, the main MCU. But the X-Men exist in Earth 838 and in the Fox X-Men universe. With this fixing of the Multiverse, the X-Men can now be installed into the main MCU as if they were there since the beginning. Same with the Fantastic Four, The Symbiotes, Deadpool, the Inhumans, etc. They can add in all of these heroes and villains into the MCU in a way that makes sense. Itll essentially be the MCU cracking and breaking, and then to prevent it and other universe from collapsing, they merge into one and then they can add or remove these individuals as they see fit.

What if the reason Wanda wasn’t able to travel to another reality where they are orphans is *because* they are orphans? She never leaves 616 except in dreams and by dream walking; but if the Wanda of alternate reality ### is dead, then how can 616 Wanda see into that reality by dreaming, let alone travel to that reality to be with her boys? Ultimately, I think that’s the whole reason she wanted America’s powers: to go find her boys who needed her, not traumatize another happy Wanda’s children by kidnapping them.

What if when Thanos destroyed the infinity stones, they couldn't find a host powerful enough to house in? Wanda's new burst of powers could be an amalgamation of the power of the stones because it didn't just look like she was absorbing Agatha's powers, it looked like it came from everywhere. This would mean that she has the soul stone within her power set, making sentient beings with souls. Power stone obviously, time stone is a bit iffy, reality stone definitely, space stone could be her teleportation or speed, and mind stone with her control of the mind. This is a HEAVY reach but it's fun to think about.

As to how 838 Billy and Tommy came about, I think there was a 838 Vision that married 838 Wanda. As Thanos was destroyed earlier in 838, on Titan and Thanos’ infinity gaunt does not have the mind stone, so Wanda never had to destroy Vision in 838 and there was no blip. (The audio description in the scene Prof X shares the flashback with Dr. strange says Thanos was destroyed at Titan). That’s why Wanda 838 doesn’t have all the grief issues of Wanda616. Vision would have had come into creation in a different way in 838, as Ultron838 seems to have not revolted against the avengers, but that’s a fun new backstory to look forward too. As to why Vision isn’t at home with the family the evening of the dream walking, it isn’t clear. No one in the family seems upset that he is missing so it could be he just isn’t home, or is on a business trip. There is a photo in the house that could have him in it, in the scene where the kids ask for ice cream, the camera pans past a picture of Wanda celebrating a birthday and she is handed a glass of wine from a man on the left who has Paul Bethany’s complexion, but his face is covered by the photo frame, you just see a nose and hand. Is this evidence of Vision838, who has more human like skin? But Perhaps he has died recently, which is why they cover up his picture, and why Wanda616 thinks she can just slip in and convince the children she is their mother with no Vision to debate otherwise.

i'm thinking that billy and tommy will be seen in the 2nd season of loki where they meet kid loki as they would eventually go to loki and the TVA as loki realizes who they are but also discover that wanda is alive but is now forced to work for a villain because of her actions in "doctor strange 2" as she is already consumed with guilt. the kids would be the ones to save her and she would eventually go back into mama bear mode to fight whoever and they would come home to westview where vision is at the house waiting for them.

The Twins in other universe, are probably the product of a one night with a random man. Then why does Wanda 616 twins have the same appearance than others ? Well maybe she created them from a dream that she got. Remember Iron Man in IW dreamed about a child named Morgan, well he got a girl named Morgan in Endgame. Then like you said, Wanda probably created them like vision, with magic. i dont think they are more powerful than wanda and can escape the Hex. they are as powerful as Vision (Hex), their existence and their power depends on the hex. I dont think we will see Wiccan and Speed in MCU. it will be really difficult to justify their existence. I just hope to see a new (redemption) story for Wanda (without bringing back to life Pietro, billy and tommy like in the comics ...)

In the comics, Billy and his twin Tommy were magical constructs created subconsciously by Wanda Maximoff using pieces of Mephisto's soul. Billy eventually ceased to exist, only to be reincarnated years later in Billy Kaplan, also known as Wiccan, for his magical, reality-warping powers like his mother. He is also a member of the Young Avengers.

What if in the 838 universe Wanda is actually a mutant and Billy and Tommy where naturally born but the father wasn't Vision but Wonder Man(Simon Williams). If you remember Wonder Man doesn't exist in the 616 as a real character but he is a fictional character from a movie. Also, in the comics Wanda and Wonder Man did have a relationship and his brain patterns are used to create Vision. On top of the Illuminati being destroyed in the 838 universe, that reality is open to be removed from existence Wanda and the twins escape that reality and go to the 616 universe to survive and the boys become apart of the Young Avengers as biological mutants during or after Secret Wars, when all realities combine into one.

You actually may have discovered kevin feige’s whole story line for wanda after the events of multiverse of madness about her children being only illusions or manifestations to have kids with the man she loved that had brought billy and tommy in wandavision but there were other many varients of wanda that were what how we see they look like in wandavision of billy and tommy, and i think it was cause she dreamt them and saw them in other universes, either she could have had them with another man possibly in those universes may be a just a regular man for what we see in the happy birthday picture in that scene of m.o.m where she pretty much led a normal life and or it could be an actual super hero we might not know yet and she is divorced but we still have yet to see and I actually had the exact same theory before watching this video truly incredible first timer on this channel!
