julianzolo lol....who are you dude besides a random nobody trying (unsuccessfully ) discredit a great directors work?
@hrushikeshgouda49656 жыл бұрын
@julianzolo I was talking about the movie called "Interstellar". I'm not sure that people who fall in the rabid cult of MCU or DCEU fantards have the intellectual abilities to understand that there are even better movies than the shallow and immoral and unrealistic movies they are composed of. You are apparently one of those who can just think of The Batman Trilogy when the name of Nolan is mentioned. Well that's alright. Because deep down even you know that MCU will certainly never make such a psychological thriller in its entire run. Funny thing, even Sam Jackson agrees that MCU is nothing so special to deserve the unjustified attention it gets. The Hitman's Bodyguard is more fun than any of the MCU movies. And well don't worry I'm not triggered but just laying down facts. Popularity doesn't imply good quality. But I don't think you will understand this anytime sooner.
@hrushikeshgouda49656 жыл бұрын
@Sandeep Mehta whatchmen was really good. But it's not a part of DCEU, yet. DC may have a future but for now both are of no good.

Nolan's way of storytelling can be copied but no one can copy speilberg , Scorsese or Kubrick because if one is cautious enough he can surely observe how Nolan uses cross cutting and small jump cuts to fool the audience like he did on prestige and memento...i like his style so i wrote my screenplay by studying his films Nolan generally makes his films for brains using non linear way of saying a story in order to build suspense but..just look at how speilberg made Saving private Ryan and Schindler's list without any kind of nonlinearity..it's still heartbreaking to see the characters suffering...i don't know how you study or watch a film but i said what i realized.

@julianzolo, Nolan's Batman are the textbook definitions of great comic book movies. Unlike you, I have read Batman comics. And from reading them, I can see the clear influence from Dennis O'Neil, Doug Moench, Jim Aparo, Neal Adams, Chuck Dixon, Graham Nolan, Grant Morrison, Jeph Loeb, Frank Miller, Bill Finger, and plenty other creative minds behind Batman comics that have influenced Nolan's trilogy. The first few minutes of Batman Begins are frame-for-frame recreations of the comic panels from The Man Who Falls and The Fugitive.

Nice video and insightful. One question - most of the videos focus (rightly) on the artistic aspects - the style, imagery, and recurrent themes. But would you mind addressing another issue - he's made a bunch of blockbusters, has Nolan stayed on budget, on time and were there a lot of notes/reshoots with the Dark Knight, Inception or Interstellar? I'm curious because earlier creators like Hitchcock and Kubrick seemed to have worked in a different era - were reshoots common then?

I hear rumours that our friend is now working on a North-by-Northwest meets Inception plot, which is exciting! It sounds similar to the storyline of the novella that I wrote: 'The Station at the End of the Line' for Amazon Kindle. Basically, an everyman with a mistaken identity who falls afoul of two sinister chaps known only as the 'Twain'; with some Time Dimension shifts and a paradoxical 'it all ends were it begins' twist thrown into the mix. I have people like Nolan, GK Chesterton (author of The Man who was Thursday) and John Buchan (author of The 39 Steps) to thank for my inspiration. I think it's just on the @t (Canada) website, if anyone is even remotely interested.
