Serpentine Belt Renewal (With Manual Belt Tensioner)

Renewing the serpentine (auxiliary) belt on a 2001 to 2008 Peugeot 307 with the 1.4 litre petrol engine. This engine has a manually adjusted belt tensioner. Peugeot specify the use of a special electronic tool to correctly tension the auxiliary belt (SEEM C. TRONIC type 105.5 belt tensioner tool). If you don’t have access to this equipment, you should tension the belt to where there is about 5mm of free belt movement between the crankshaft and A/C pulleys when firmly pushed with your thumb or finger. If this method is used, the tension should be checked using the specialised equipment as soon as possible. Thanks for watching, please comment, like and subscribe !.
