After taking off all that stuff it is a good idea to replace the inner belt while you have access to it, especially if it is an older belt. Nice video Danny!

Yes, it’s a great time. Just a little more work if you have a stock lower, and not much more for the aftermarket lower

Another well explained video! Would you happen to know if the water pump on an '01 Bullitt is the long or short design? I'd like to stay oem, however, most online retailers indicate either are appropriate for the Bullitt!
@dannyjohnsonsgarage2 жыл бұрын
In mid 2001 ford changed from the long shaft to the short shaft (my 2001 GT was early production and had the Windsor engine vs the Romeo. The bullitts were built last so they also got the new tr-3650 transmisión where my GT has the t-45. Part of these changes would include the water pump to be a short shaft, but they also gave the Bullitt a different water pump pulley. The water pump pulley in the Bullitt is larger than the standard GT. The part # for the pulley is 8509 (F7UZ8509AA.)

Hey danny do you know how can I find the inner pulleys? Like the idlers? Does are bad on my cobra too
@dannyjohnsonsgarage2 жыл бұрын
I would look at the gates pulleys. They are on amazon and when I was looking at them it allows you to select the position. Make sure you see that some pulleys are smooth for the back side of the belt and some have grooves for the inside of the belt use amzn.to/3i7RCNB

If you go electric do you still remove the old pump? If so what do you use to seal all the holes?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage2 жыл бұрын
Yes. The electric pump replaces the old one. It should use the same bolt holes. Electric will save you some parasitic loss, but it runs the same speed constantly. Some engine builders say it’s not as good

You think an oem motorcraft water pump would be ok on a whipple 750 wheel hp 03 cobra or should i upgrade to an edelbrock one?

Did you change the O ring on the plug? What size it that?

I did not. I do have a kit from harbor freight for o rings that came with multiple sizes. Seems to work well for situations like this

Danny today my car was fine got to my destination felt my air conditioning felt warm, looked up and smoke coming from the coolant reservoir. I checked the dip stick seems to be clean oil. Do you think my pump went ??

@dannyjohnsonsgarage2 жыл бұрын
Very possible. I’d remove the belt and turn it by hand to see if it feels it’s grinding, look for any coolant coming out the weap hole (it does that when the bearing fails).
@5.0_meatballmarinara2 жыл бұрын
Danny sorry to bug ya man ! Appreciate your help . So when I fill the reservoir start the engine no movement at all with the coolant. No bubbles no swirling nothing. So I’d think the pump but I also don’t see any coolant leaking from the drip hole in the pump. Do you think the pump is bad?
@Vel0zity094 жыл бұрын
When I removed my cross over cap and started the car, the coolant erupted right away. It didn’t sit in the cross over tube like yours did. Any idea why mine did that? Wasn’t hot at all. Cold start to burp it.
@dannyjohnsonsgarage4 жыл бұрын
Probably has a clog or air pocket somewhere causing it to heat in only that area. If it’s erupting it’s getting air out
@Wings652884 жыл бұрын
How did you know the water pump was going bad? Was it ticking at all?

Do you by any chance know the part number for the inner belt? Changing my water pump and my inner belt is pretty worn
@dannyjohnsonsgarage4 жыл бұрын
I’ll have to look it up, but first, do you have a stock lower crank pulley? If so it’s quite the process to get the inner belt off because you have to remove the outer crank pulley with a 14mm hex and it’s reverse thread kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3u8paSPop2pabc

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage awesome man I appreciate it a lot! Shouldn’t be hard for me to find it now with the part number so thanks!
@dannyjohnsonsgarage4 жыл бұрын
@@jjuarezzzzz Make sure to watch the video on the lower crank removal. It’s a bit different and you need to get the 14mm hex socket. Get a black impact one that’s tough or it will snap. Reverse thread means you “tighten” to loosen it
