These are my exact fins, I hunt underwater but do more videography these days. The green fin blends in with the reef so you’re not as visible which I like as a hunter. I free dive everyday, I own the regular sea wing novas and the gorillas. After six months of free diving every day using the regular sea wing novas, they felt like they were getting mushy and breaking down. But what was really happening was my legs were getting stronger. So I upgraded to the gorillas and love them. The gorilla’s are much stiffer, they may make your feet or legs cramp if you kick hard but nothing you can’t build to and get stronger so this won’t happen. These fins are great, I’m 6’1” thin athletic build and these gorilla fins are snappy and make me go fast! Highly recommend them, if they feel to stiff in the beginning they will break in a little. I have been using them for two years now and can’t find a better fin to use for free diving or swimming in general. You won’t regret buying them!

Love the fin the design & hydrodynamicly challenged bigger divers with Drysuits can’t fold them when kicking so they maintain optimum push but I’d get the softer black ones if your in a wetsuit on single bottles. Hate the silly green it’s hard to follow a buddy in the sea with them.. The hole in the Tip is to reduce resistance on a dead spot & the bungee if soaked in fresh water should last years. Softer fins feel more natural but when they fold too much they lose push & that effort becomes up down resistance which isn’t helping you forward but wastes energy.bigger divers with bigger twins etc are harder to push through the water so they fold soft fins when kicking but a small women in a wetsuit would find these fins give her cramp & may make her legs sink. So there not just for Tec divers or advanced divers there for stronger legs with bigger mass being pushed through water. They don’t make male or female or tell you this so use this when choosing nova 2 gorilla or standard nova 2 fins.

Really good detailed review. Thank you. If i'm more likely to snorkel, and a smaller swimmer (170cm 70kg), would you recommend the Seawing Nova fullfoot fin?

Well, in my point of view, there's no big difference between the gorilla full pocket and half pocket model except the price. Nova gorilla with that model costs 200 usd while I got my gorilla nova full pocket for about 70 usd. So, the question remains. which would you prefer?

Looks good but why the green color! I wish they made the Gorilla with black or white colors

Can we use this for free dive as well plz?
@TheScubaProfessionals2 жыл бұрын
for free diving you would need a closed heel fin, open heel fins are not great for freediving as the foot pocket creates drag in the water.

Nice fins . But the prices are through the roof.

Naw. I got my gorilla Nova full foot for about 70USD. It's a steal

So have you personally ever used this fin?

HI, yes I have used the Nova and gorilla quite extensively. The gorilla is just a bit stiffer than the nova version.
