As someone who works at a parts store. Its not ultimately our fault. Its the customer who returns it. Idk how many fuxking times i heard "Oh it new i didnt open it" Just to open the damn package and see its a old part. You cant trust a damn word nowadays. Then when you confront them about it they get angry bc "it was already like that" BS If you buy something and plan on returning it used beware. You will get embarrassed for trying to be cheap and get money back for your old part. Actual customers that are not doing this sorry for the inconvenience some scum people make you go thru.

I own an auto parts store and before a part leaves my store we inspect it and sometimes even mark the parts. I don't know why people don't inspect the part themselves before they leave the store or inspect them when they are delivered

I like that he called all people who do their own mechanic work scumbags. Not just specifically the ones that steal products.

I work at a parts store. Part of the blame is on the parts store because you are supposed to check the parts before you return it. At my store, if you categorized a defective part as sellable. It is an automatic write-up.

Happened to a customer of mine once. Purchased oil for them and the oil was black. I always check parts before I buy for this reason. Comes to show the world is sad and getting worse

I've seen used engine oil being returned as new and just placed back on the shelf to be sold to some hapless customer. Inspect EVERYTHING you buy EVERYWHERE before you plunk down your hard earned money.

Same thing in California, but the employees should check the return and make sure the good part is in.

Definitely not condoning it, but if corporations would stop hiking prices for extraneous profit there would be less theft. Inflation Is down but prices aren’t. Otherwise eff those guys, sucks bad. 8 bucks jeebus 😡 sorry you gotta deal with bs Ray.

@@jwsmsmith it is down. Corporate inflation is a whole Other thing. Don’t be biased you show your colors.

@@dang9668 my colors? Community rules of youtube require that we don't disparage people, idealogy? Ok people no... Inflation is not down and inflation doesn't cause bad character. There is no justification. Oh and the 'rate' of inflation is down but the effects of it are not. Have you received several 9% yearly raises recently?

After working at Advance Auto parts, I CAN GUARANTEE that most of the bogus returns came from our commercial customers. I’d say 90% of them.

It sucks when they do this at a store that is 35 miles away and you don't find out until you get home. The worse is when the store attendant looks at you all wrong when you open the boxes in front of them to make sure you have the right part. I have been told that I should trust them, just to find out that the box has used parts.

If I have a “wrong part” or need to return a part for some reason, I open the box in front of the store employee/ manager just to show it was undamaged by me, and if I am excepting a delivery part from a warehouse I scrutinize it as well before the driver leaves! Hence I don’t buy many parts from Amazon!

We sell car parts in germany. A "customer " ordered 8 diesel injectors, send it back and told us, he don't need the injectors anymore. We should refund him. We opened the boxes and there was som old sparkplugs in it. He is not our customer anymore.

I work in parts for a dealership. Every time I get a part like that from the aftermarket I ask them to run history and tell me the last person that bought it. Every single time it is a shop. It is never a person on the street. So yes, mechanics that work at shops stop being scumbags.
@LeroyJenkins03113 күн бұрын
Hmmm seems like an employee at the parts store did some work on their own vehicle and put the old parts back in the box. Who here has EVER not went to any of the parts stores and tried to return a part that was wrong, defective, or not needed, and had to watch the parts guy examine it to make sure there wasn’t any marking on the threads or the spade connectors etc.

As the inventory manager at a major plumbing supply house, these people are a dime a dozen and you should always check your parts. Sales associates who don’t know the product will take back anything as long it’s in a box with a barcode on it, doesn’t matter what’s in the box.

I almost dumped someone's used motor oil in my new motor. The shop honored my return and said it's been happening alot.
@yyiii276Күн бұрын
Two parties are at fault. Yes, it is a dishonest crappy move from the person returning!! Also, partially at fault is the associate not looking at the item being returned. If associates actually do their job and give a crap this would not happen. Unfortunately, most associates just want money and complain about not being paid enough. Hmmm....just think if this would not happen, it may be possible the associate may receive more pay.
