Scunthorpe United 0-1 Tamworth FC

Top of the table clash. Tamworth occupying top spot. Much to everyone’s surprise, including own fans. Scunthorpe in second, who many expected to be in top spot. So what could possibly go wrong if you’re a Tamworth fan. Turns out absolutely nothing as they won the game 1-0 against 10 man Scunthorpe. In the lead up to the red card. Creaney elbowed Evans, seconds before Denton pulled his man back to stop him getting through one on one. We’d have all done the same in fairness, the pull back, not the elbow.
Anyway later in the game guess who manages to get the ball over the line, yes Dan Creaney. Let’s take nothing away though from Tamworth. They came with a game plan and executed it. It wasn’t a great performance all told from Scunthorpe. Over 5000 in attendance and once again, couldn’t perform in front of a large crowd. Too slow and methodical. The lack of urgency and what many have said strange substitutions at the time.
Now I’ve calmed down and looked at the bigger picture. All is not lost, still plenty to play for. So let’s keep heads up and hopefully you’ll be at the ground Saturday, getting behind them. It’s not just the team that need your support on the pitch. It’s also the team off the pitch that need it too. Bills still need paying and debts still need clearing. This club needs the community and the community needs the club. We’re in it together, never forget that. #UTI

Lot of the season still to go! And that’s coming from a Tamworth fan who was there last night. I felt the same stress in the first half and if your lad hadn’t been sent off who knows eh? One thing if we do go up I hope you do too so I can come back for more apple crumble and custard…was bloody amazing 🙌🙌

From a neutral who has seen both of these sides struggle in recent years it is nice to see them both compete at the top. Crazy how Tamworth have held there own throughout the season.

Great vlog full of honest assessment. There is still a long way to go and many points to bag. On the night Tamworth were the better team but the sending off played a part in the result. Tamworth face Alfreton on Saturday who are unbeaten for several weeks and I predict they will drop points. I hope both teams go up.

That was a surprise, although we have beaten both of you this year at Chester , I keep waiting for Tamworth to mess up and you guys to win the division but they keep grinding the results out and fair play to them, cant really see anyone catching them but stranger things happen always enjoy your vids look forward to travelling to Scunny for the return game

I thought that Tamworth were the better team, seemed better organised. Scunny seemed to lack idea in front of goal. Being realistic, given the recent obstacles during the last 12 months that the club has gone through, it's a bonus where the club presently are at. We have to remember that this league was never going to be easy, teams with well drilled defences and players of good quality. I'm not sure if Tamworth are full time. Anyway, the season is far from over yet and if Scunny reach a play off spot then that would be a realistic target achieved. Anything further than that would be a bonus. Keep going Scunny.

Long way still to go, easy to blame the ref when the result does not go your way. We are top of the league for a reason, the stats do no lie. We have 15 games left, so anything can change......its not over yet, but.........COYL it was a great night.

Unlucky result. Scunny deserve to be top not Tamworth. When we played them they were very poor looked like a 1 man team and the ref seemed to be on there side allowing there dirty play. Hope you lot go up champ and not them
